Listening to Barrie, Finebaum, and Moscona on Kiffin

Pretty interesting how different their takes were.
B/F pointed out the reasons why Kiffin might go to Florida, downplayed LSU thanks to Landry. But then they said he is not the job hopper he used to be, is happy in Oxford, and said he is not the same person he was when he came to Ole Miss.
Then they both said this is Lane's first time to make the CFP and they did not see him throwing that away after all the hard work he has done to get there. Such was their conclusion.
Then you listen to MM's Locked on podcast. No acknowledgement Lane might have changed as a person, no consideration of what he thinks of walking away from a playoff team in the middle of a run, or how he likes it in Oxford. It was all he is going to leave, the jobs are much better, and that is all there is to it. Not the nuance the ESPN guys had.
Just an interesting comparison.

Leopard can’t change its spots. I don’t believe anything has changed with Lane. Maybe he’s become a better father and better person but I think he would bolt in an instant for any opportunity that is better than ole miss.

I’ve got news for you. None of them know anything at this point in time.

Moscona just wants clicks on Youtube and will say whatever beings views.

The question with Lane is whether or not he will stay off the booze
Posted on 11/17/25 at 8:31 am to prplhze2000
I think LSU and FL bring more pressure than Ole Miss. I personally think for longevity he could use the heightened interest to get more $ from Ole Miss and sultry there. Mediocrity will still keep him employed and if he continues to do well there his stock will just rise.

Meh. The only thing I know for sure is that no one should put much stock into whatever Moscona says.
Dude swore up and down just hours before his termination that Kelly was not getting fired.
As far as Kiffin, if he comes to LSU, I’d be frustrated in the job opening drama. Any time another elite CFB job or NFL HC position comes open, the rumor mills are going to start turning about Kiffin and Sexton will use those rumors to bend LSU over the salary barrel.
On that front, I get OM fan frustration at the moment.

Look at Lane's actions.
He knows he is in the middle of a playoff run. He's had an extension from Ole Miss on his desk for the past several weeks, and he is not signing it even though he knows it could be/is a distraction.

I find it amusing how purple goggle tiger fans think that Baton Rouge is more pleasant than Oxford.
So then you say...yeah. but LSU gives him a better chance to win. And this is while he is heading to the playoffs with Ole Miss, and LSU can barely scrape up enough talent to beat Arkansas, a 2 win team.
fricking delusional
No ine knows what hes about at this point, but please stop with the LSU/Baton Rouge is some sort of utopia for a coach.
BK just proved thats its an absolute myth that Louisian talent will put a good coach into some elite category.
Kiffen isn't coming....period. he doesnt need another "stepping stone" to the pros, or whatever. And as far as coaching college, hes way way way more successful at Ole Miss right now, than he would be in 2 years in BR.
And Ole Miss will match with enough money where it isn't the carrot to get him here.
Kiff is NOT coming

Realistically, people in Kiffin’s tax bracket are going to live like kings wherever they live. For someone of his wealth and status, there is no objective difference between any college town or city. His bread is going to be buttered wherever he lives.
And yeah, irrespective of how many here love to shite on BR, there are some very nice areas to live.
That out of the way…

BK didn’t succeed here because he got lazy as frick. There are few better programs in the country when it comes to resources, talent, and state-wide buy in for a program than LSU.
Kelly chose to squander that. That’s his deficiency, NOT LSU’s.

They also bring a lot less control with their fanbases, administrations, boosters and even governments making the jobs much more difficult than Ole Miss. I hate to say it, but if you want to control a program, Ole Miss is a better place than Florida or LSU.

Dude is an absolute prick to his viewers with different opinions.

I can't figure out why Moscona has a show.

Moscona is clueless...

What did the coaches before BK prove? That even the could all win championships at LSU.
All BK proved was that he was mailing it in for money at the end of his career.
LSU has literally proven coaches like Miles and O can win a Natty at LSU. Imagine if an elite coach was at LSU. BK won a bunch of games because of inferior competition.

Theres ya problem. Listening to Moscow Matt. Dude has been wrong close to 95% of his preseason "reads".
He's no insider with ties to the program. He's just a dude with a radio show who gets to ask questions to the head coach every once in a while.

To a certain extent thats right but the guy is sober and in a better stage in his life. Hard to not acknowledge that and see how that could play a part in his decision making.
