I think you missed a big part of what he said, if those boosters don’t poney it up, since it’s a public institution the tax payers are then on the hook, which is why we saw Landry have meetings with the BOS and boosters to make sure someone can foot the bill

And if they weren't willing to pay the buyout then Kelly would still be the coach. His firing wouldn't have happened before the financing was secured.
