I really can’t see how Fox is liable (but they have the really deep pockets) — old man deserves to win this, hope ‘ole Sanchez pays out big

quote:

A 69-year-old truck driver who was seriously injured in a fight that prosecutors say was started by former NFL quarterback and sports analyst Mark Sanchez is suing Sanchez and his employer, Fox Corporation, in Indiana state court.

Lawyers for Perry Tole filed the lawsuit Monday seeking an unspecified amount in actual and punitive damages, as well as attorney’s fees. The lawsuit accuses Sanchez of instigating a fight with Tole Saturday night outside a downtown Indianapolis hotel, leading to “severe permanent disfigurement, loss of function” and other injuries and emotional distress.

Tole also stabbed Sanchez several times in the fight, according to police. A picture of Tole circulating online shows him in a neck brace on a hospital bed, covered in blood with a deep slash to the side of his face.

I heard a talking head say today that Sanchez had been involved in previous unreported incidents. Makes some sense.

Who among us has not had a knife fight with an elderly delivery driver whilst hammered and perhaps dusted?

Whi thought the butt fumble wouldn't even be a headline in his life. Talk about stupid behavior.

Funniest thing about this story is how people initially were like our cities are so dangerous Trump send in the national guard. About white bread Indianapolis.

Then the story comes out and it’s Sanchez…

Just playing the odds they will settle rather than go through the publicity of this.

So dude got in a fight with Sanchez pulled a knife got a few solid pokes in before disarmed and getting return pokes with his own knife?? That’s the only way I see this happening…

no way it was a straight up knife fight on both sides, and if Sanchez had the knife to start with ain’t no way that shmuck got the knife from after being attacked….

That’s my guess how things happened

Unless he was overserved at a company event, agreed.

Sidebar: Joe Namath's drinking got him fired from MNF back in the day. He offered a beer to Roone Arledge one Tuesday morning in the limo on the way to the airport.

I’d like to hear his legal theory on Fox’s liability.

Cost of defense to avoid motion practice unless there were prior episodes that Fox knew about and covered up. Even then it would be difficult to hook them in on him being plastered at midnight two days before he was calling a game.

The nose beers and 9 cocktails were all in the course and scope. Will the Indianapolis community accept this dangerous behavior?

His employer knew he was dangerous? I mean it's still personal responsibility in real life, but the eye of the law is as F'd up as Sanchez on the night before an NFL game.

As I got older, I liked to keep them between Monday and Friday. Making bail on the weekend is a young man's game.

He was on a business trip. Old man will say Fox had a duty to not send psychos out into the country.

Sanchez somehow gets into an altercation at 2am with a 69-year old man that rolled his truck up behind the hotel to empty the grease trap?

And also why does Sanchez even give a frick about who parks behind the hotel at 2am?
