I thought they did alright. I saw several times where the LBs went unblocked. That middle screen call late in the game would’ve been a game sealer except the lineman totally whiffed the only defender in the area.

It was not the liability I thought it would be. Winning that game and then having a cupcake coming in should help shore up some issues.

I’d say a B+. They did really well for never playing together during a game situation.
Gotta give credit to Bauer Sharp. His presence on the line and in motion picking up defenders coming in helped out tremendously.

B+

We had some issues to start, but if you told me Nuss would only be sacked once? Against all the supposed 1st round talent in their front 7? and on the ROAD.

Baws handled the challenge and held up well.

They did good against tge best Dline theyll face. The La Tech game will be needed to solidify starting five

I think they got the tackles locked down. Mubenga and echols may be your starting guards

Solid 'B' with obvious room to improve. If memory serves me correctly our transfer C & OG did their jobs all night and we never heard their names for a penalty or getting beat. The younger guys around them had plays they won & others where they were beat at the snap. This group should only get better & consistent with more reps. It was a GREAT effort & start on the road vs a top 5 team.

It's tempting to define success for the OL solely as blowing the D off the line of scrimmage. What impressed me yesterday is that we ran a bunch of complicated screens and misdirection stuff and there were very few penalties. I'm no offensive guru, but it looked to me like we ran a lot of complicated, sometimes slow developing plays last night and given that it was the first game of the season in a very high pressure situation, the offense executed at a remarkably high level. I think the OL is going to be fine.

B+

Solid grade for a first time OL.

Running game was good. Nuss had plenty of time to throw. Just a few instances where we broke down.

Moscona said it well last night. People were freaking out about OL but after seeing the Defensive Front 7 LSU fielded it made sense. The toughest front 7 may have faced all year was in fall practice.

Clemson has two of the best defensive tackles in college football in Calehart and Woods. Parker at OLB is probably a first rounder also.

LSU gave up one sack and Cade Durham was consistently gaining four plus yards.

They were great. We will be balanced on offense this year. They get an A for run blocking, and a B+ for pass protection. We will be able to run successfully on any team this year. We definitely seem committed to the run this year. I love the way the Oline faced the defense in the huddle. They looked big, strong and most importantly confident.

Nuss didn’t get his shite rocked all night and we ran reasonably well against a stout DL that has multiple NFL guys on it. First game of season. 5 new dudes.

That earns an A.

I was pleasantly surprised. Considering what we lost, facing a top DL, and being the first game of season.
The run blocking is better, not great but i expect it to get better.

Good job OL and Davis

Run blocking still needs to improve.

Other than that, solid work last night. A-
