I will be dining there in a few weeks and am trying to decide what entree to order. Dry aged steaks, wet aged steaks, Wagyu filets and flat iron steaks, prime rib, or perhaps a different entree. What would you choose?

I’d be hard pressed to order anything other than that dry aged, 20oz Bone-in NY Strip…

Dined there a few weeks back with the family. Ordered the dry aged porterhouse sliced “family style” for the table (2 adults - 2 kids). It was perfect as was everything else from sides to service to dessert. Enjoy!

They have a very low minimum for the A5 wagyu filet, so I would get 2oz of that, and the 6oz grass-fed filet mignon

Congratulations! This is an unbelievable restaurant. From the service to the food, they do not disappoint. I had the bone in NY strip and wife and daughter had filets last May. Also had a couple of bottles of Faust cab sav with some sides. Just superb. Since you’re going in the early fall, see if they have Chanterelle mushrooms available. Do not miss these. Can’t miss place.

Despite living there for 4 years and countless trips, never been to Halls
Just always found somewhere else to go given the options in the city and steakhouses being steakhouses

However friends have told me the tomahawk is the way to go
Marbled and Fin is a newer fancy steakhouse with much more varied menu if you wanted to check that out also

Went earlier this summer and my son and I split the bone in filet and the prime rib. Both were great but I am a sucker for a good prime rib.

Can’t go wrong with the dry aged or the wagyu there. Bone marrow butter is banging as well. Get a seafood tower while you’re there as well, phenomenal.

A couple of trips ago I was offered “blue rare” for the temp on the steak after I joked “bloody as hell”. Avoid at all costs, your money is worth more temp. The steak was delicious but the texture was awful.

Looked at the menu…

Steak tartare to start
Salmon as rare as they’ll send it out
Brussels as a side

Double bourbons throughout, seems like they’ll have some nice ones.

Rack of Lamb all day

They might have some “off the menu” cuts like hanger steak. If so, order that and it will change your life

It’s a remarkable spot and the steaks and service are great

Just go with what you normally like and it should be very good.

I’ve had ribeye and filet and both are excellent

Went to one in Nashville last night. Ordered the American wagyu skirt steak. It was very, very good. A lot of flavor. Wish I had gone with:

But didn’t want to eat that much red meat. Half dozen PEI oysters. Too many sides but man that cream corn is like crack, or so I’ve been told.

Service was great.

My son is going next Friday to celebrate the end of his away rotation at MUSC. I am nearly certain he will get the bone-in filet.

That 2oz portion of A5 is a must try..cheapest way to enjoy the luxury of A5 beef! They get their steaks from Allen Brothers...dined their in 2019 and had bottle of '61 LaTour decanted 4 hrs before our reservation( it was my 60th Birthday)..Met Billy Hall who is founders son...he just wanted a tasted of the wine in exchange for no corkage which is $50) when he found out we where from Lafayette,La...he had a great story about Lafayette..he played football at Miss State for Jackie Sherill had open date so he and his roommate went visit a friend who played at ULL..hell they where playing T A&M surely going to get asses kicked..well we know how that turned out...he and his roommate helped pull down the goal post and marched it out of stadium and walked it to the keg area. He said that was one of best times he ever had in college... OOOO btw the Sunday brunch there is fantastic!
