The city projected a 2026 deficit of nearly $1.2 billion, a figure that could grow if there are cuts in federal funding.

With the mayor determined to preserve investments for the unhoused and those needing mental health support, along with youth employment programs, he may again ask taxpayers to dig deeper.

The "Ultra Rich" will hire tax accountants and attorneys to find loopholes... the people "With Means" will get the heck out of Chicago. The rest of the people will be pitted against one another vying for handouts and basic services.
Elections have Consequences.

Has he given any reason or possible cause to this? (Rhetorical of course)
But seriously, how can people stand this shite? I bet if they started to cut gov assistance due to this shortfall, there would be a riot and a change to voting habits…who am I kidding

Well, well... if it isn't the consequences of my own actions?

These cities keep running off the wealthy and inviting the needy and then complain that their tax base is eroding and they wonder why….

Translation: if you’re middle class and live in Chicago, bend over.

The consequences of prioritizing illegal aliens over your own citizens. Who knew?

Didn’t we just bail all these retards out with China Virus money. Like an HBCU the money disappeared.

ICE just needs to make it known that they aren't going to seek undocumented/illegals in Chicago. Drown those bastards in illegals and the cost associated with being a sanctuary city. Make it a destination city for illegals in the U.S. Bring them to their knees once and for all in Chicago.

Eat shite Chicago.
Hey Illinois, gerrymander your congressional districts (and no doubt state legislature districts) some more, that will fix it.

If they can hold out until the Dems get the WH, they will be bailed out by FedGov.

Notice they never say "we need massive spending cuts for free shite".

This is what statisticians and economists call a death spiral. It will be fun to watch.

Which ever is cheaper for the wealthy, tax crews or crossing the city limits, is the path they will take. Yay! More urban decay from the tax flight.

Pritzker sign a law this week that 2 chicago pensions had to hike benefits.
The only problem is there aren't enough funds.

Gov. JB Pritzker’s signature Friday on a bill hiking benefits for two of Chicago’s pensions that already had been bled nearly dry.
A City of Chicago actuarial analysis of the bill says the change “would increase the city’s pension liabilities by more than $11 billion across the Police and Fire funds,” the Chicago Tribune reported, while dropping the funding levels of both down to less than 18%.
Those funds were already desperately underfunded, having had only 25% of the money necessary to pay out pension benefits for work already performed. They have the lowest funded ratios for local pension plans in the country.

Let it implode. This is the end result of the policies they’ve knowingly voted for.
