How often do you come across a turtle crossing the road?

On THREE different occasions yesterday this happened to me.

More often than chickens come to think of it.

The last time I went out for a bike ride, which was Monday.

In May it's regularly. They're going to lay eggs.

I see them a lot. The other morning one was in the middle of my driveway that I moved into the grass.

Sometimes they show up in our garage when it’s closed, it’s an unsolved mystery

I helped a big snapper across the road a while back that someone had clipped with their car. Shell was a bit damaged. Tried to bite me (obviously). He didn't move from where I placed him immediately, but between the injury and stress that isn't that unusual for them not to nope out of there immediately.
At like 11pm that night I kept thinking about him so I had to drive back over to where I saved him, it was about 30 minutes from the house
He wasn't there. Like to think he made it, the injuries didn't look severe and they are resilient animals, but with turtles it can be hard to tell if they have something going on trauma wise inside the shell. .

Not even close or have you not seen the multiple posts about Southern Classic opening and backing up traffic?
It’s just nowadays the chicken is crossing roads in a box or bucket.

Almost everyday. Out of the city limit life.

When I visit my parents in Iota, I could pick up 3-5 turtles on the way there and 3-5 more on the way out.

See a couple here and there but I see a ton of alligators crossing or dead on road

I had a picture of a turtle that was crushed RIGHT before making it to the curb after crossing 4 lanes of traffic and thought it would make a great de-motivational poster

I get out and move them off the road. Did it at least a dozen times this year

Once a year give or take in our neighborhood as we are class to a levee and some ditches.

Have to ask…
Why?
(Did the chickens crossed the road?)
