Tell me about Broken Bow, OK

I’m understanding and hearing there’s really nothing to do there.

Take that with a grain of salt cause I’ve never been but have researched it cause I’ve wanted to take family there and I just can’t make myself go.

Will be following this post close cause I still wanna go. Sorry I’m not much help bud.

Not much to do there. It's very well marketed real estate. Nature trails are common.
In 10-15 years, it might be the new hot place to go.

Do you have a boat?

Broken Bow is a great time but I'd cut it down to 3-4 days tops. And I wouldn't go in the hot months, as everything to do is outdoors. But if you like hiking, kayaking, swimming, fishing, etc., it's a great time. You can rent a boat out on the lake.

There are some fun touristy things to do for kids. Last time, we went to some big maze with an attached putt putt course, and that was a lot of fun (and difficult). Not many restaurants to eat at, but I enjoy Grateful Head pizza very much. Get a nice cabin and plan on doing some cooking.

As some have said, it gets crowded in the summer. And really hot. Traffic is tough but it’s also a touristy place. Zipline is ok, putt putt, go carts, kayak/ canoe not far, ice cream shop, a few restaurants, boat rentals. Lake is great, no homes allowed along the shoreline.

I’ve only been with large groups. We brought coolers of food and cooked at the cabin for the most part. All the cabins we stayed at had cornhole, hot tub, foosball, pool table, etc.

It's 3 hours from us and we went once. There are much better places within a 3 hour drive from us. Broken Bow hired a marketing team a few years ago to create buzz and that's all it is, hype.

A week is probably too much, but 3-4 days is good. There is hiking, a place with horseback riding, and we enjoyed the zip lines.

I didn’t see the mini-golf place.

There is also a winery and that Grateful Dead- themed pizza place is good. None of the food options are amazing, but you won’t be stuck eating fast food and mediocre sandwiches by any means.

By the end of the third full day, we realized there wasn’t much else to do, but that essentially marked the end of our trip, as we were leaving the next morning.

FWIW we went in the winter, I believe the week before Christmas.

3 full days max. Just not much to do.

If your little boys haven’t seen mountains before, the hills will seem like mountains, and there are some spots by the river that feel kind of like Colorado.

We went a few years ago with kids from 2 to 14 and everyone loved it. We rented a party barge one day, we hiked all the other days, just little easy hikes.

We stayed 4 nights.

I would say that a real cool cabin is a MUST. Otherwise I think we wouldn’t have liked it.

ETA we went in early April. I wouldn’t go in the summer.
