gotta be retail pharmacy right?
always 2-3 people working back there who like like they’ve been trafficked, if there’s more than three ppl in line you’ll be there an hour…and before you say “but the pharmacists provide advice, etc…” no they don’t and even if they wanted too there’s not the opportunity to do it. Especially if it’s me behind that customer in line glaring at you.
so what’s the deal? Why can’t counting and bottling pills (on doctors orders) be automated? A lot of times there’s not even any counting at all…I just got a round of prednisone and antibiotics both were pre packaged in a box. The pharmacy literally put the boxes in a bag and handed to me

I wonder if the pharmacists now are just pretending to be Chinese or whatever so they don’t have to answer a bunch of questions

Popeyes
1) food products must be prepped cooked and packaged (no automation possible here…legitimate food safety issues)
2) orders generally are not make ahead of time like prescriptions
3) much higher volume and much higher customer expectations

I genuinely never wait more than 5 minutes but i did laugh at the trafficked part
I have no idea if Publix pharmacy is good relatively but I rarely have to wait at all, so maybe?

This doesn't stop the olds from asking questions, continuing to shop, and then coming back to the counter to ask more questions. Any pharmacy inside a Target is twice as bad as a standalone CVS, where there is usually at least one car in line taking a COVID test in the drive through.

Because you need a Doctorate to count pills

That and after you wait 30 min you get the “you ain’t in the system”. Shockingly enough after the register person gets help from the supervisor they find your prescription. Every…..single…..time.
They are worse than the drive through folks at McDonald’s.

I’ve used a pharmacy one time in the past decade+. Scratched my cornea some how and had to get some prescription drops. Get in better shape and this is a nonissue

And the transaction took at least 10 minutes. You must be going to Walgreens. They are the worst. Find a better pharmacy and you will be happy to learn that they are not all the same. Local mom & pop shops are usually good and to my surprise, Walmart pharmacy is extremely efficient. Walgreens is by far the worst.

I went to the doc yesterday afternoon and stopped by my pharmacy on the way back and they had my script bagged and ready.
There are good pharmacies out there.

Have an express line, pick up only, and automate it. No questions, no small talk, no insurance issues, no other items at the register, prepaid only
I forgot my favorite this is a real hoot. Dr sends prescription to pharmacy, you don’t find out they don’t have it or can’t get it until after you are inconvenienced. There’s no way to tell the drs office they don’t have it? Legitimately no possible method by which they could all work together more efficiently and all make more money?
archeologists will study this centuries from now

I always use small, local pharmacies. Rarely ever have to wait and excellent customer service.

One of the best things we ever did was quit using the local CVS/Walgreens/Box store pharmacy and started using the local place right down the street. Most of the time they have any prescriptions ready within the hour of being called in. No more waiting in line, no more dealing with someone with a pissy attitude, no more day+ wait for things to be ready, no more "Oh we're out of that one, you'll need to go to have it transferred to our other location to be filled".

Right. You don't have to be trained in hand to hand combat working in a pharmacy.

Join Amazon Prime and have your doctor submit your prescriptions to Amazon Pharmacy. They will deliver to your house and you will never step foot in a pharmacy again.

The Costco in Covington is a disaster, and I love me some Costco.
The people they hired are terrible, but I assume they didn't have much to choose from...
