$12 for a standard wash to spray dawn soap and water on your car. This cost around $5-$6 less than 2 years ago. I don't need an employee to stick my card into the card reader for me just lower the price. And of course they are all pushing subscriptions because everyone on earth wants you on a subscription to rob you of your income. /Rant

I pay $15 a month for unlimited washes, I think second to best tier offered.

I'm such a sucker for a subscription

But I do use it at LEAST once a month, usually twice and sometimes 3 times, and the wash I get is "supposed" to cost $15.

And they ask for a tip on the machine now. While the attendant is standing right there watching you press the buttons.

Oh yeah they hit me with the do you want to leave a tip for our team. Like bruh at least on the iPads in restaurants they couldn’t immediately tell if I tipped or not. Now the person standing there is straight up asking me lol

If your car is worth a shite, I highly suggest you stop using those places and wash it yourself or have it professionally cleaned once a month or so

If it’s -20F out, I’m using the car wash place. Especially since I need the underbody wash more than anything because of the salted roads.

I had that for a while. I made myself go at least once a week if not more.

You know how you get home sometimes and you notice the wash missed a spot here or there? When you start going often it gets the whole vehicle super clean after the 3rd or 4th wash then maintains it. Your wheels look great, etc.

It's worth it if you use it.

I bought a pressure washer and will never pay to have my car washed again.

The washes never do a good job and I still have to manually vacuum it. So a pressure washer and a shop vac does the trick better than a car wash place

No big deal if they spit on your car.

I keep hearing about how life costs too much these days. Yet, the average consumer is paying for all these services they could do themselves. Doordash, car wash subscriptions, lawn service etc... I never see neighbors' teens even cutting their yards or washing their own cars. No wonder everyone feels broke.

Yep, get ready for the WALL-E future. We get lazier and lazier as the conveniences increase. I saw the other day that car washes are one of the top ten investments for the next 10 years.

Pretty soon the Door Dash folks (or robots) will be bringing the food inside and feeding you while you lay in bed or sit on the couch.

The whole business model is now centered around subscriptions so anyone who actually goes and buys a single wash is a total fool.

You are the total fool in this scenario

Mine is $20 per month and I go at least once a week this time of year especially. Maybe in the summer I’ll go 2 weeks between washes but it still breaks down to be not that bad.
