Take him. Allen was a major downgrade from Manny Diaz and his defense underachieved this year in the biggest games.

Why wouldn't he. Penn State has way better talent on defense than LSU. And I'd rather coach with Franklin than Kelly who would rather be on the golf course.

He went to Tulane. His wife went to LSU. He’s got a defense that will have mostly his players and a lot more talent next season after taking a solid step forward this season. He’s also the highest paid DC in College Football, so good luck with that.

And they were fortunate to win that one. They definitely were not the better team.
To be fair, though, PSU’s 1994 team was stacked on offense. That they and Nebraska did not get to play for the national championship is one of the tragedies of the pre-BCS/playoff era.
