I don’t know anyone asking for this, but I also don’t know anyone in the east


Regardless if it keeps pedestrians off the interstate I suppose it will help prevent fatalities and interstate closures.

So, this is in pursuit of federal grant money specifically earmarked for "disadvantaged areas."

So, some contractor with a family member in local government is going to get a fat contract to build this with federal money. They'll do a shitty job because their ultimate goal is to pocket as much of the money as possible. And the maintenance costs will be born by the city, which has no money.

Meanwhile, there are swimming pool sized potholes in Lakeview that are ignored because that's where white people live.
