Why the frick are all headlights on new cars twice as powerful as the old “brights” were? The LEDs don’t help the driver see the road really any better than the old ones and now we have a ton more people getting absolutely blinded by these things driving at night, so what is the benefit to road safety?? It’s so bad that even having someone behind you with the LED’s causes horrible glare and lights up your car like the police are 20 deep chasing you.

Used to before I got my Tundra - now I'm the one blinding everyone. Feelsgoodman.gif

ETA: Obviously a fricking joke for all the ninnies. The OT used to be a proper place.

I’m 26, but not wanting to be blinded while driving knows no age requirements.

Cop cars are the worst.

What idiot decided it was a good idea to make their lights ( red/blue) that effin' bright?

Well that’s not true.

I have a leveling kit and get flashed to turn off my brights a lot. I politely turn on my brights until they’ve passed.

Another thing that compounds the problem is "auto bright" features. I drove my mothers car recently and the brights are on at all times until the car senses oncoming car. The problem is it doesnt sense very well and doesnt sense at all cars on side street, coming up from behind, etc.

The LEDs themselves don't cause me issues, even on lifted F250s behind me. It's the misaligned lights on even cars, or just people with their brights on that screw me over.

And it helps to clean the greasy inside of your windows, too, that will cut down on glare from all lights.

Well that's just not true at all. They are much better for visibility. The lights are much better on my new truck than they were on my last one. My mom went from non LED to LED in her new vehicle and seriously thought the road going into my brothers neighborhood installed new streetlights but it was just her headlights were that much better

I’ve noticed a shocking number of people lately who are, in fact, doing exactly this. Don’t get me wrong, cold white LEDs and misaligned headlights are a problem. But a ton of folks actually just have their brights on.

I don’t know if it’s auto-dimming headlights, or people who have a low-beam bulb burned out, or general stupidity (probably a combination of all three) but it’s rampant.

Ah yes. I’m sure you think they’re aligned perfectly and it’s everyone else - not you - that’s the problem.
