Went to go eat out at a restaurant the other day and there was a cop car and an ambulance parked outside. I never realised how bright they were until then.

Around me, cops are doing the opposite.

State highway, 4 lanes with a median, and at night, cops will sit in the turning lanes in black chargers with no visible markings and no lights on.

But it's gonna be a tragedy when one of those frickin retards gets paralyzed by someone who can't see them until it's too late.

The leds are terrible. But in 10 the other night a motorcycle going west while we were going east had a yellow light that belonged on a seagoing vessel. It was the brightest thing I have ever seen. Disorienting

Most don’t spend the time to re-aim their headlights …

This will become a focus of vehicle safety inspections…mark my words. Mississippi abolished their vehicle inspection sticker program several years back and it has been great not to have to deal with that money-grab. I predict that we will have to reinstate their program for this very reason.

I'm constantly flashing my brights at oncoming cars and trucks, only to find out that they weren't using their bright lights. I guess my eyes aren't as good as they once were,

People are putting led headlights on cars that weren’t designed for them. Then you get blinding headlights that make for unsafe conditions.

Another thing that compounds the problem is "auto bright" features. I drove my mothers car recently and the brights are on at all times until the car senses oncoming car. The problem is it doesnt sense very well and doesnt sense at all cars on side street, coming up from behind, etc.

The auto lights on our cars work very well. It rarely goes to bright lights, and it never does it with oncoming traffic, and well, usually it helps.

And the dumbass that thinks modern LED lights don't help the driver see better is just that, and dumbass.

They sure make sure oncoming traffic knows you are there, My car is low enough not to bother most people, but my wife's SUV is a properly blinding.

I do this too but I wait until they really don’t have time to react and flash brights back at me to let me know that their brights were not actually on.

The thought of them driving away pissed off that they couldn’t hit their brights in time to let me know I was wrong gives me great satisfaction.

LED's are way better for driving...

my son has a 2016 camry, I feel blind driving his car...

Newer cars, it's night and day in the difference in being able to see

auto bright should be set to on

sensor autos to low beam

It’s a conundrum. They help me see better in front of me when I’m driving on a dark road, but when they’re coming at me from the opposite lane I can’t see shite because I have an astigmatism and they blind me.

I try to avoid driving at night as much as possible.

It’s high beam and low beam, not the brightness. You are getting flashed bc your lights are out of alignment (too high).

LOL. The other issue is that people drive at night without their lights on. But that’s a topic for another threat.
