I realize there is some older threads on this subject, but I am looking for a new spot to get burritos made in the Baton Rouge/NOLA area. The person I usually uses has passed away and I tried the processor in Houma and thought they were just OK. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

I've gotten some fabulous deer burritos from Days in Watson in the past. I haven't been there in a while though with a lot of people beginning to complain about them.

ETA: I'm pretty sure Romero's off Joor Road does burritos too. My BIL says they do awesome work, I plan on bringing a deer there this year.

Im not trying to be contrarian. If you want them pre made go for it. However use regular tortillas, mix a pack of fajita mix per lb of ground deer add some onion bell pepper and some canned refried beans. Fold them up, light coat of olive oil and then brown the whole thing for about a minute.

Better than anything ive bought.

Again, just a suggestion. Good luck.

The guy who was doing all the processing had a falling out with Romero’s and is not doing them there anymore.
He’s now set up in the old carters in denham springs on Lockhart road

Never mind, just re-read your post.

Mickey Brown's in Houma is my go-to.

I know it’s not what you asked but can grind your own deer meat? If so, I’ll give you a great recipe that we’ve been using for quite awhile. Let me know and I’ll post if so.

Romeros used to require all the meat brought in to be completely cleaned and deboned. That said, their tamales were excellent. I have heard good things about deer burritos from LeBlancs in Morganza.

Cajun Meat Market in Houma makes some damn good burritos. I get mine without beans.

They remind me of a way better version of the Taco Bell chili cheese burrito.

Meateater.com has some great recipes. Meatchurch has some as well. Best ones are the ones you make yourself.

This is my go to. He’s the best I’ve found if you prefer well seasoned with Cajun spices.

Duck Roost is my favorite by far. Get ~50 made every season.

*Edit to add that this is in St. Amant*

Bayou Boucherie In Raceland off LA1. Will never eat another Mickey Browns burrito again!

And I will never bring any meat to Cajun Meat Market in Houma!

I would appreciate you giving me that recipe, either on here or via email at kargroup@charter.net. I do have the facility to grind. In fact, the gentleman who made the burritos in the past for me would use my grinder, but I was too foolish to get the recipe.

Thank you and thanks to all that responded/
