You misspelled "cut spending". If that doesn't happen, first and in a strong manner, inflation isn't going anywhere and cutting taxes (ie: revenue) is just going to feed a new inflation wave even more.
We're not getting out of this fiscal fricking anytime soon and everyone is going to have to take some pain to some extent, otherwise the growing debt servicing alone will eventually outpace the strength of the USD and fail.
