Your Biggest Success?

Everyone loves the chance to brag. What has been your biggest success in investing? Could be a 10x bagger (or more), steadily piling into your 401K, real estate?
For me it was a bit of dumb luck getting a job with excess income around the end of 2008, and somehow deciding to plow it all into Apple. On the regret side, i wish i hadn't sold so much of it after it double, quadrupled, etc....

My biggest successes have been a result of reading this forum:
Getting out of the market in 2008 before the shite hit the fan. MB saw it coming.
Buying into Visa almost 15-18 years ago.
Buying into Nvidia in early 2022

Relative to today’s standard I would say Having children early in marriage and steady sales job the past ~20 years with matching 401k. great net worth relative to our age.
wife and are both 41. Have a daughter entering Auburn and sophomore in HS. Nest will be empty when we’re 44.
Not for everyone but I would encourage those that have found their true love to get married early and start a family and don’t wait until you are “financial secure”…whatever that means anyhow
Struggling financially early in our marriage and with a baby brought us together …will caveat we both have great parents ourselves and not everybody has that

Sadly my company stock is my best performer. We get a 15% discount and I started buying our stock at the bottom of the barrel. I'm up like 45% overall in less than a year on it. Not huge dollars, but I'm not as experienced in the market as a lot of guys here are.
My big regret was buying AXON at $60 a share several years ago after getting to experience one of their products. It made me a believer, but then I sold it after the uncertainty during Covid. It's a $300+ stock now.

Bypassing 401k from 22-26, living cheap and buying a bunch of real estate. I can’t believe my dumbass had that self control in my early 20s.

FA bought Nvidia in March of '22...I followed suit in a separate account early last year. I wish I'd done that earlier.
Years ago, I rode WorldCom all the way up. I was probably up 8x...then I rode it to 0 with the quickness.

You are the exception in regards to this kind of thinking. Most people are headed for shitty time and a divorce when they start having kids and haven't gotten their shite together financially.

That's a long time ago. They weren't even USL yet.

Nothing special, just actually investing. Starting a Roth IRA in addition to my 401k. Then starting a brokerage account after the Roth. Investing and holding in basic index funds in each account. Combined with marrying right (she agrees with our financial plan), this simple buy and hold of basic index funds gave me a 7 figure net worth by age 37. So I'd call that success, and I didn't do anything special or make any huge moves on a single stock as I'm too busy to follow the market that closely. This forum helped tremendously when I was in my early twenties and got me on the right path.
My regret is I didn't start sooner. I didn't get my first real job until 2007 and once I was looking to start saving for retirement everything crashed in 2008. It scared the shite out of me. I wish I had started investing then but I was scared to lose the little money that I had at the time. Lesson learned!

This and I think the person below mentioned just educating yourself on the basics by reading this board, WCI, and similar forums.
Not getting sucked in by a financial advisor.

Not investing, but I began my own biz in ‘16. Began another in ‘21.
Began another in’23.
Bought two large territories for a franchise in ‘24.
Beginning an overseas adventure in ‘25.
Sold the first biz for more money than I ever dreamed of, closing the second soon.
I am a believer in small biz, investing in the communities and people, and giving people opportunities. The people who work for the businesses make more than they ever have, and have opportunities of ownership and wealth. Also, investing in small biz generates WAY more wealth than stocks/real estate.
Edit: I take back the last sentence based on two posters below and his 1300% gain.

Agree on God/religion, family/children, finance it’s a piece of cake
If you don’t on any of those three you are exactly right. Lots of issues forthcoming

Moved nearly my entire Roth IRA and HSA into MSTR in 2020 when it was around $120/share.

Started investing at 18 at suggestion of my dad. Just turned 60, I think I’ve done well considering I didn’t make over six figures until recently
