Injuries on the defensive side of the ball prior to the start of the 2019 season really hurt us. I think by the end of the year we had five or six true freshmen who were either starting or seeing significant playing time on that side. And then you had the high ankle sprain Tua suffered in the first half against Tennessee where he just wasn't the same player after that. And then we lost him for the season four weeks later against Mississippi State.

LSU gave up 38 points to Vanderbilt that season
This narrative is bs Vandy scored two flukey defensive TDs that game to get to 38

2019 wasn’t an all-time great LSU defense but they were definitely a solid one
Bama's last TD really was kind of freak - that stupid distraction thing they did on Stingle with that bomb. And they got a TD off a punt return too that was kind of freak. The game actually wasn't as close as the final score indicated.
Having said that, Bama actually COULD have won - even with the injured Tua. That always scared me.

Lsu gave up a punt return, and 2 miscommunication cheap TDs with all American DB. Take away 21 points, and the game wasn't that close.
How many "yeah, buts..." does Alabama get?
How about this: if Alabama scores a TD on that first drive instead of Tua's freak fumble, the ghosts of eight years of gut-wrenching failure takes their toll on LSU and they choke the rest of the game away.
See how easy "yeah, but..." is???

Any year Bama didn’t win the championship in the Saban era was a colossal choke job besides 2019(LSU with burrow was on another level that year). They were head and shoulders above everyone in terms of talent, depth, and coaching.

I think it was Shawn Shivers and they had a hard time counting to 11

Also, you probably don’t understand the Iron Bowl if you think either Alabama or Auburn would ever be unmotivated and unprepared for that game.
I love posters with no sense of irony
Auburn was LSU’s toughest game and that was at home. Bama played them at Auburn, the game was close, a missed kick a questionable call and a back up QB for Bama and they lost by what 2?

That was 3rd down if he doesn’t fumble he gets stopped well short of the EZ. However, LSU took the ball and marched 92 yards they score a TD after a kick off either way. And while the final was 5, Bama never had the ball with a chance to take the lead in the 4th Q, no one did vs LSU that year.

Our 2 starting middle linebackers tore their ACLs in August. One of the replacements was a true freshman that ended up transferring and sucking in the PAC12
Before Tua’s injury we pretty much named the score on anyone other than a similarly talented LSU squad

I don't know but I do know that no Tide fan with any pride would have anything to do with a Tide football team that lost to LSU or Auburn!!

Don't be duped by this a-hole. This thread isn't about Alabama. It's about passively aggressively shitting on LSU and what they accomplished. It's part of his little, weird, subtle schtick. To what end, I have no idea. He's too bit a bitch to ever just come right out and say what he really wants to say.

What a dumb shite question? What was wrong with that team was Tua got hurt in the Tennessee game. I imagine he was on some really good stuff just to put pads on for the LSU game.
I know that ‘19 LSU team was obscene with talent plus Joe and it was almost a team of destiny to go all the way but I really wish Tua would have been 100% for that game. Maybe the outcome have been different but such is life.

Also, our punter inexplicably fumbled a snap giving LSU the ball around our own 30-40 yard line.
Wow, I forgot about that. Just compounded the myriad of unforced errors by 'Bama in that first half:
- Tua fumbles for no reason that first drive taking at least 3 points away. 'Bama probably goes for it on 4th given that offense.
- Mishandled punt the punter just lays down on in 'Bama territory
- Tua throws an awful INT before halftime to give LSU I think another TD

LSU really should have blown us out after that disastrous first half but we turned it on in the 2nd.
Yeah, there was no reason 'Bama should've been in that game, but the offense was really just that good. Credit to that patchwork defense for getting a few stops as well.

Yeah the defense played hard and made some good plays, but that LSU offense was just too lethal.
We also had an INT in the first half that got wiped out because we had a player not get off the field fast enough before the snap. Got called for 12 men on the field.

They got it correct. Have you seen the history of officiating when those two play? Especially in Tuscaloosa. Tom Ritter says hello.
