What would the results have been vs LSU with a full crowd that year?

Same as every team during Pete Golding’s tenure, they couldn’t buy a stop during big games.

Even in the 2020 season, the defense was liability. See Ole Miss and Florida.

Lsu gave up a punt return, and 2 miscommunication cheap TDs with all American DB. Take away 21 points, and the game wasn't that close.

However, they got exposed against both LSU and Auburn.

Tua was hurt and didn't play against Auburn

Yet Alabama still scored 41 points. LSU gave up 38 points to Vanderbilt that season. A bad Texas team scored 38 points.

Sure they were arguably the best offensive team in college football history but the 2003 and 2011 defenses were better than 2019.
You also have to figure that LSU’s offense was much different in the Saban and Miles eras. Much more dependant on running the ball, which chews up clock. 2019 we were running a pass heavy offense with a fast tempo and scoring quickly…which meant more possessions per game. So its not really a fair comparison to look only at points allowed. 2019 wasn’t an all-time great LSU defense but they were definitely a solid one

They got noticeably better from the SEC championship on that year.

Mac Jones sucks and threw a bunch of picks in that game to a very good Auburn Defense

On the other hand, what if Tua doesn’t inexplicably drop the football (and the Heisman) for no apparent reason and the refs don’t give LSU a touchdown with that BS “the receiver re-established” call. It might be a different ballgame.

Tua was hurt the week prior and auburn played out of their minds. Wasn’t 2019 in Jordan Hare?

Yes and you know it. LSU wasn’t winning that game, period. But to think that ways games would not have been tougher with full crowds and stadiums is asinine

Tua was hurt, the middle of the defense was littered with true freshman, some playing out of position(I think Alabama started 6 true freshman at the same time) and Alabama had that dogshit DC.

Gonna be tough to beat 2019 LSU with that shite.

And LSU barely could.

Auburn's DL that year wrecked every offense they went against.

Also, our punter inexplicably fumbled a snap giving LSU the ball around our own 30-40 yard line.

There was also a 4th down try by us where it looked like Slade Bolden went well over the line to gain but they called him short resulting in a turnover on downs at midfield.

LSU really should have blown us out after that disastrous first half but we turned it on in the 2nd.

but at the end of the day our defense was plagued by injury before the season even started. And you could see our defense phasing into the undisciplined stylings of Pete Golding.
