NPR suspends the Wrongthinker

Remember the NPR Editor that spoke out in The Free Press last week about the network losing its way and going all in on an overwhelmingly leftist editorial ethos, especially since the onset of Trump?
Suspended without pay.
From NPR itself:
So, he raised enough of a valid point to prompt some internal reviews, but he must still be punished.
I'm sure that if he had brought this up in a more confidential setting, it would have still gotten the scrutiny it needed.
Suspended without pay.
From NPR itself:
quote:
NPR has formally punished Uri Berliner, the senior editor who publicly argued a week ago that the network had "lost America's trust" by approaching news stories with a rigidly progressive mindset.
Berliner's five-day suspension without pay, which began last Friday, has not been previously reported.
Yet the public radio network is grappling in other ways with the fallout from Berliner's essay for the online news site The Free Press. It angered many of his colleagues, led NPR leaders to announce monthly internal reviews of the network's coverage, and gave fresh ammunition to conservative and partisan Republican critics of NPR, including former President Donald Trump.
So, he raised enough of a valid point to prompt some internal reviews, but he must still be punished.
I'm sure that if he had brought this up in a more confidential setting, it would have still gotten the scrutiny it needed.

Reworded it to be closer to the likely truth.

He's lucky that the US FedGov didn't kill him.

They have no intention of performing any self inspection.
The CEO’s statement was unapologetic.
They are proudly Marxist Progressive and promote Democrat Party talking points.

All taxpayer funding should be withdrawn from NPR.
Taxpayers shouldn’t be required to fund media that is essentially an arm of the Left. Full stop.

The intentional use of “punish” is quite interesting.

No. He made them look bad enough that they had to PRETEND to have monthly internal reviews. They're not reviewing anything except making sure that no conservative has a voice there.

Another little telltale data point of who the real authoritarian party is nowdays all while they scream and cry about Trump being a ‘dictator’.

NPR is a propaganda outlet supported with tax dollars.

Leftists when CNN correspondent was revoked press credentials:
“Assault on the constitution!! Danger to democracy!! What are you hiding?!? The end of the free press!!! Assault on journalism!!! Dictator!! Dictator!! Dictator!!
Leftists when a journalist points out apparent bias:
“Suspend him!!! Get him off the air!! No credibility!! Cancel him!! White supremacy!! White rage!! Racist!! Silence him!!! End his career!!!

Does he live in NYC? If so, I'm sure his real estate portfolio is about to get "scrutinized" by the local DA.

I know you are being sarcastic, but he did try to resolve this internally several times...according to his essay. The people criticizing him for what he did and saying "he didn't have to blow up everything" are oblivious, and don't realize that yes, he did have to go public if he felt there was no other way to bring about changes that were needed.
And this was only a 5 day suspension...but it wouldn't surprise me if he doesn't last much longer there. I think he wants to stay but does not want to leave willingly, and wants to force NPRs hand if they want to get rid of him.

The fact that anybody is downvoting these is just depressing AF.
How far gone do you have to be to not see this as a problem?

What's funny is that the article basically confirms what Berliner said about NPR not wanting to post stories, even if true, if they would help Trump.

Dem mouthpiece.
If Trump gets in, hope it's one of the first things he does - cancel NPR permanently.

the people downvoting are the ones who think that to be conservative or to even question the progressive agenda is to be objectively evil, and therefore silencing or destroying all dissenters is morally right.

The funny thing is....NPR truly thinks they are unbiased
I mean.. Every one that works there is voting Joe or thinking Joe isn't "progressive enough" but some how they think that with their unified personal positions that they are unbiased. To paraphrase Rick James. " Groupthink is a helluva drug"
