Aerospace engineering is a bit shocking

Honestly I am surprised that biology isn't on there. Lots of biology majors who planned on med school, vet school, etc are pretty much unemployable with a basic biology degree. I see them working in roles where only a state license or certification is needed without a college degree all the time. To a lesser extent I see Chemistry majors doing the same.

STEM isn’t always what it’s made out to be

Where’s Psychology? Has Starbucks hired all of them?

Notice you don’t see plumbers and electricians on the list. Those are jobs that actually matter.

Who is setting the criteria for an “insufficient job for their training”.
I’d argue liberal arts, fine arts, nor art history have a worthwhile career opportunity after college especially considering how much they would have paid for their degrees.
I’d guess they’re overvaluing their “training”. Hell any job that pays those three majors is probably overpaying

The higher your attainment, the fewer the jobs. PHDs have normally been the most underemployed.

Man I would have thought aerospace engineering would be one of the highest employment rates these days.

Whomever made that chart is apparently overemployed, it is visually pretty bad.

I think AI may be a factor. Also probably impacted by cuts in airline industry and defense spending.

My step-son is majoring in aerospace engineering right now. I'm trying to steer him to petroleum, at least as a minor. Don't believe the hype about the government ending fossil fuels. There are always going to be shale patch jobs in Texas.

My ex brother in law got his PhD in Art History and couldn't find a job anywhere making more than $40K. Went back to school for a few more years and became a RN and now does travel nursing.

My Poli Sci degree is looking pretty good! At least I'm not a space engineer.

I was liberal arts, but my concentration was Marketing and Advertising. I'm doing quite well with that. I can see how others are tanking though.

There is zero reason for any university to have degree programs in Fine Arts. Dismantling the technical college system in favor of a community college system was the single worst decision Louisiana made in the 21st century. I am a proud alumnus of the Automotive Technology program. The motto on the door of the Hammond campus-
