No they don't - they have the whole court

Thirty minutes or do before tip off each tesm warms up on the end of the court that they start the game shooting on. Neither tesm had the whole court.

See how that can go both ways?

There are clowns backing Landry on this

It’s such a BIG issue for you…yet you never even noticed the basketball or football team wasn’t in attendance for the anthem over the past however many years?

Everybody knows it's a hardship to walk 50 ft and place your hand over your heart for 60 seconds. I mean - your hand must weigh the same as 0.15 basketballs. Come on...

Bullshite, he is right, taxpayers are paying their arse to be there, they better be there.

No tax money goes to pay anyone involved with LSU athletics. None.

If the boosters / TAF donors are upset... that's fine and they can address that by withholding support, if so motivated.

You’re believing something that’s 100% verifiably wrong.

For years you didn’t even notice college teams were in the locker room for the anthem.

You took the bait. You are a useful idiot. Your outrage is completely manufactured.

They are always in the locker room.

But why?

I disagree with forcing them to do anything regarding the anthem and Landry must be a mental midget, but I think “they are always in the locker room” doesn’t answer the criticism that they are intentionally avoiding the anthem.

So allowing ignorant and unintelligent rednecks to gain power is so much more appealing?

We can have rednecks that want girls on the court for the national anthem and grandstand about it
Or
We can have the type of people who want dudes to be able to play the girls game

I’ll take the reactionary redneck all day in that scenario.

For the most part it had always been that way. The NFL had always waited until after the anthem for the teams to come out, but about 15 years ago they made a deal with the Army for them to get a premier ad spot on Sunday games and they asked for the players to come out and sing the National Anthem pre game. Prior to that no one gave a crap about it.

On the college level it has still been that way at least for football games. Why change the college game?

That is exactly what it is. You have the freedom to film police, cuss at them, burn the flag , not stand for it, etc.
All of this has been through the courts.

And again, they DIDNT protest idiot. It was a miscommunication. And even if they did silently protest by staying in the locker room, you can’t take their scholarships. You’ll be sued, and you will lose.

Shut the frick up, you’re out of your element

This isn't true even though it's often repeated.

I went to Saints games my entire life and I distinctly remember both teams being on the sidelines for the anthems as far back as the 1980s. I'd always watch the players as they swayed back and forth to the tune.

Get rid of the national anthem and other totems of civic religion at sporting events. Our founders never pledged to flags or sang anthems to the government, they just shot people who threatened their god-given rights. We are of them but we’re not like them.

he gets his way how does he plan on changing the bands football pregame routine. The players aren’t on the field when the National Anthem is played

Not only because of the routine, but because it’s SEC policy. If the football team were to be on the field for the anthem, they would be violating SEC rules. The whole thing is a fake issue made up for people to have something to sky scream about. No different than people on the other side of the political spectrum screaming about things that hurt their feelings. It’s the exact same thing.

I only jumped in this thread because people are being intellectually dishonest.

And then you say this:

But we know why they stopped going out there several years ago. If we are being honest we know.

Unless you can cite a Mulkey quote that gives the reason you don't know. Saying you do is intellectually dishonest.

I don't think it has been mentioned in the thread by one of the main issues with the governor's pontification was saying the players should be stripped of their scholarship if not on the court for the anthem when clearly it was a coaching decision. If a governor tells me to be on the court and my coach says to be in the locker room I am going to be in the locker room. I personally have no reason to doubt Mulkey, she is a woman of straight talk and I will take her word for her reasons. Inferring anything else and stating it is fact would be intellectually dishonest.

What's the "mistake"?

The mistake was not knowing that bc the NCAA or any conference requires teams to attend the anthem, it is actually quite common for teams to use the time to prepare. If he ever went to even 1 LSU football game,, he'd have noticed neither team there for it.
