I just watched the full video of the ship hitting it and the bridge collapsing, I would’ve thought the bridge would’ve slowly collapsed, but it happens in only 1 second. The entire thing is in the water instantly

Disregard this, it was sped up when they played it back on the news

If you watch the video a time or two more but don't focus on the ship, or the impact, but just look for cars. It appears you can see every vehicle going back and forth in both directions. But at the moment of impact and for a few seconds before, it doesn't appear that there are any vehicles moving across the bridge.

If a few of those people who crossed right before the collapse would have taken a minute longer to leave the house this morning they’d be in the river right now.

I think about stuff this way all the time too. If someone couldn’t find their keys, or stopped to pour an extra cup of coffee, they may have still been on that bridge.

Yeah, all I see are the flashing lights of the construction vehicles near the center of the bridge roadway at impact. I wonder if they had any warning?

This is horrifying. I can’t imagine being on that bridge. That thing went down fast.

If you want to go down that rabbit hole there are plenty of stories online from 9/11 about why people were late for work at the trade centers/missed their flights that day and are only alive because of it.

I wonder if the 7 cars that went in were the construction vehicles. That doesn’t explain the semi though

News said semi, but I read that they were doing concrete work. So it may have just been a concrete truck or another construction type of vehicle.

There’s not that many ships that go under the I-10 Bridge in BTR. There is only 3 docks that moor Ships, above the bridge.

Maybe because of movies or something? The grand cinematic destruction. It seems like huge things would take longer to fall but its not so.

That’s what I’m seeing too. & I counted around 5 utility vehicles parked up there. possibly 6. It’s kind of hard to tell because they aren’t moving and don’t all have flashing lights.

The entire bridge doesn't need to be cleaned up, just the middle section for the shipping channel. In a major state of emergency, any idea how long that would take? I'd assume a couple of weeks?

What would the protocol be? I'd assume you'd have to get a crane ship in there but likely have to have divers or something cut the bridge into movable pieces?
