Nope. Hate the location, food is expensive, and good not great. To each their own, though

Because of our location, we have so many good/authentic places. $1 taco Tuesdays. Heck, my tamale lady is doing a Sunday drive-by, delivering to the house, 10 tamales, for $20.

I loved Ted's when I lived there (1996-2008). However, I took my daughter to the one in Norman last year and it just wasn't the same.

Tex Mex is trash. Hit up the authentic Mexican place on siegen near the vape shop. Think it’s called Tienda Latina or something.

When I lived near Gonzales, it was El Meskal. Cheap, tasty, and the margs would eff me up.

Now that I live in Hammond, I have yet to find a place that really scratches my itch.

La Carreta in Hammond.

Fiesta Time
Daily 3PM-6PM
$4 Small Margarita
$2 Beef or Shredded Chicken Tacos
Plus free chips & salsa.

To those who were expressing concern about the high costs at Mexican restaurants: where else can you dine out for around $10, which even includes an alcoholic beverage?

Superior Grill every Tuesday night. Food is pretty bad but the drinks are good and it’s been in the Tuesday slot of the weekly rotation going on 13 years.

El Patio & El Paso are pretty much the same distance from our house. We favor El Patio because the kids like their nachos better. Superior is more like 3-4 times/year for us.

Kinda. In Mandeville, El Paso for general Mex and Paco’s for something different.

ETA: recently tried Chivos and really liked it.

Ours was Casa Garcia, the original one in Kenner. We went there for good Mexican food, until they opened the one in Covington. We had been spoiled living in Houston and having access to so many good Mexican restaurants, so the drive to Casa Garcia was well worth it. Now Slidell has a new Mexican restaurant, Los Cantaritos, and it is much better than the current Casa Garcia in Covington. Los Cantaritos has already opened a second restaurant in Pearl River and it isn't a franchise. Both are outstanding and the food quality is the same between the two.

And likely nobody from Mexico involved in the production. So no, I don’t have a home base Mexican restaurant. Sad because I used to be perfectly content with it, it’s just not worth the price

You are a miserable pos, just accept that.

Oh no god forbid everything stay the same price throughout your entire lifetime. A few extra bucks on your entree shouldn't bother you unless you're poor

Mexican is actually pretty good here in Utah. A firm upgrade over nola Mexican options (a downgrade everywhere else food-wise).

Several in the rotation. La Casa Del Tamal in West Valley City. SLC has a couple that are truly elite.

Not bad, nice people, but a bit bland for my taste. There isn't a single Scoville unit in the place.

My "home base" Mexican joint has remained the same from the first day I tried it because they consistently serve good food and give you huge portions for a fair price. My go to is the fajita burrito. After gorging on the free chips, bean dip and salsa bar, I can only eat about half of one of these burritos so I get another meal out of it later. It cost $11. Here is their menu....

Papa's and Beer

They started out in Asheville, NC, but opened some locations South of the border (in SC) around a decade ago.
