It adds up to way over 100%. I'm looking at mine right now, and each sub category does not add up over 100%.

Not sure what part of Italy that influx is from.
Most of the ones I know have to be Sicilian or from southern Italy. They have the black hair and darker complexion

The last name of my grandparents were changed also when they came to America.
Was his name Vito Andolini?

All of my grandparents came to America from Sicily when they were very young children via Ellis Island. My paternal grandparents settled in Lakeview (New Orleans) and my maternal grandparents settled in New Orleans and Plaquemine, LA. (across the river from Baton Rouge).
My mom's Dad's (my maternal grandfather) family were Indentured Slaves on Oak Alley Plantation.

That's 93% and 7%. Not this:
It makes sense now, but based on your original breakdown, it didn't make a lot of sense. Good food culture, everywhere. Except Glasgow

European 93%
Southern European 53.3%
Italian 46.6%
Gulf of Termini Imerese
Southern Trapani
French/German 31%
Northwestern European 39%

The is a small town in NW Arkansas called Tontitown. I was an Italian settlement. There is still a vineyard that operates there. They opened restaurants that served Italian food but would add fried chicken to appeal to everyone.

My dad and uncles used to legit fight people back when they were growing up in the 40's and 50's if someone called them a WOP
My dad tried to fight me when he found out my AIM screen name was DumbWOP420

Interesting thread.
My Dads parents immigrated here from Sicily. He was born in Baldwin in 1916. Married my mom, who was from England, while overseas for WW2. Settled in Lake Charles. The last name was also changed

Read the great book Rising Tide. It covers the 1927 flood and many related things
Great book. I gave my copy to my dad one time and he said yeah whatever. Couple years later he gave it to me and recommended it as a really good book. I looked at it and realized it was the copy I gave him.

Palermo and Cefalu seem to be common points for a lot of us. Of course, Palermo was also the name of the administrative district that contained a lot of smaller villages like Corleone and Cinisi where our families were from.

I just find it amazing that not many people talk about the Italian influence on this state, particularly New Orleans
