Since the dawn of the internet there are those who just want to complain about anything and everything, and if there is nothing to complain about, they will look for something to complain about.

Then there are those who like to complain about the complainers.

The new meta is those who complain about the complainers about those who complain.

This is the way...

As far as this potentially cleaning up Tigerland as athletics expands closer to it. They said the same thing about Gardere when L'auberge Casino was built. Still waiting on that one, so I wouldn't count on it.

So they’re going to build a brand new facility and make the practice facilities for basketball and gymnastics obsolete.

The fanbase isn't really as negative as it seems. You have loud and vocal trolls on here who aren't even LSU fans. Go talk to people in the community about what you read in the OP. The vast majority will think its great. This place is good for info but a cesspool of opinions

I could see gymnastics staying in the PMAC. They could convert the basketball practice facility into office/event space for the AD and/or TAF.

Keli Zinn said they drastically need more office space in her interview with Moscona.

There's ample real estate beyond The Box on Gourrier toward the levee. The intramural fields and the soccer stadium can be relocated. They already use most of that property for football parking anyway. Would be a nice complex with the new arena, The Box, and Tiger Park.

I agree but I don’t think they want it that far from the core of campus.

I think the biggest issue with this is where are the basketball teams supposed to play while this is happening? Because you know this isnt a 8 month project.

There's no way that a private arena with intents to hold concerts will utilize all 15k seating for LSU athletics. That number probably includes floor AND super upper deck seating that likely gets eliminate for sporting events.

You could build a 13k seat arena which would be about right for basketball, and you can seat another 2k on the floor for concerts.

If they demo the pmac, where will basketball, volleyball, and gymnastics practice? Bc the new facility will be for games only.

They’re all going to practice at the UREC.

Bernie Moore can still get demoed and moved. That has always still been part of the dream plan, along with the Natatorium. Facilities are massively outdated. This new LSU arena plan being privately funded would still leave the door open for track/swim&dive to fund it through LSU.

I still imagine both those facilities moving out towards where the new LSU arena would be. This makes a lot of sense because it would keep more athletics facilities near each other.

Yeah that golf course is cooked. Nothing like having a $300 million facility right next to Tigerland section 8 housing. With that being said this is better than any other spot away from campus. Somebody will come buy out those apartments eventually.

I’d imagine someone will buy it out and put hotels or nicer housing. The developer of the stadium might add lodging. Walk from hotel to stadium would be a nice addition.

It needs to be where the pmac is. Demo/rebuild

It can’t be. They need someone to practice. They are getting private developer to build this since it’s so expensive. It’s a 400 million dollar project.

They are going to use the PMAC for practice facility and adding training and ops offices there.

You people have reading/listening comprehension issues. The PMAC is not being torn down.

Yea, with them building a multipurpose building for concerts and other events, the PMAC will still be needed.

They still need the practice facilities. That shouldn't change. The main PMAC floor will be available more often, but there will still be multiple teams needing to use it.

They may continue to use the PMAC for gymnastics since Friday nights are when their meets are and that's a popular night for concerts, so there may be conflicts at the new multi-purpose arena.

The plan is to keep the Pmac for practice space and still use it for campus events.

They could remodel the inside and only use for gymnastics plus practice b-ball in it
