Sounds like you're not all for the Second Amendment.

I’ve eaten at that restaurant. It could’ve been me.

No I don’t. Given the description She prob got that gun off the street.
My point I’m getting at is I think it’s reckless that someone who’s never owned or operated a firearm can just walk in and buy one with no instruction on how to properly use it.
I had to take a field test to get my hunting license, why does some 21 yr old kid whose never operated a firearm before get to just walk right in and purchase one with no safety course taken or anything?

Because it's a constitutionally protected right.

Haven’t been there in awhile. Another reason not to go anytime soon

Because criminals who will end your life also have access to firearms. Freedoms aren't perfect, but it’s way better than being unarmed bait.

I'd love to know the percentage of violent crimes committed by people that legally obtained their firearms. I'd bet it's miniscule. Not to mention private sales/inherited guns etc.
No doubt this lady is probably an armed moron, but I'm not sure any new laws can prevent this.

Single action revolver with hammer cocked? This is hard to do even in this scenario.

Can I introduce you to drivers that are 35+ and have a "Student Driver" marker on their cars? None of those idiots are doing street takeovers, though.
I'll be kind the first time, but no so much later.
Gun restrictions were created to prevent blacks from legally owning or carrying firearms. Does your granny have any less right to own and carry a firearm because she only hits 4/7 at 5 yards? Who gets to decide what is good enough?
You know the answer. If you can't shoot expert at 300 yards, you don't deserve to carry! That's the point.
Funny you haven't mentioned reckless in the context of people on their phones while driving at 70mph.

So why did we have permit laws in the first place? You can still own a firearm nobody is denying you that right. But I don’t think it’s an insane idea that people take a course/class so they know how to properly use it.

It’s not an insane premise. At all.
I am all for people being trained to operate firearms.
The issue is that once you start trying to regulate a right, you’ve already lost the plot.
Shall not be infringed. Period.

This would lead to me not getting approved because I vote the wrong way and commit wrong think. Your slope is very slippery

You are 100% right. Give the govt an inch they’ll take a mile and it’ll start a slippery slope. No denying that. The law before was fine the way it was imo. I just don’t see why the law needed to be changed from what it was. Not like it was difficult or anything before to get a firearm.
