Anyone who owns and/or operates a firearm should be trained by a competent professional. I was raised hunting, fishing, shooting, and archery. My father taught me how to handle firearms responsibly, but it wasn't until I joined the usmc when I really learned how to use a rifle/pistol properly.

Does anyone know if the lady was charged or ticketed with anything?? If i go into a restaurant and yell "FIRE", I'm pretty sure the police would do something.

I mean everyone was starting from zero. The people who had a "know it all" mindset were quickly humbled by their results. There's a huge difference between hunting big game with a bolt-action rifle/high powered scope (point, aim, shoot) and real-world training with a m-16/m-4 with an RCO. High-pressure, time constraints, long distances, various positions, reload/malfunction drills, moving targets, wind calls, you're moving, night ranges w/ nvgs. I've spent months of my life training with different weapons systems, and I still consider myself a novice. And there are plenty of civilians that are way more proficient than I am, BUT there are also tons of gun nerds that have a whole fckn armory at their house like they're prepping for the apocalypse and many of those assholes are amateurs who would likely flag you in a real world scenario. I absolutely do not want to limit the 2nd amendment but I also think everyone who uses firearms, should get some kind of basic training. That doesn't mean I trust the gov't to facilitate this.

You're likely one of those prepper nerds with 5 daniel defense ARs in your home safe and rocks 'we the people' attire but is a complete amateur on the range.

No, I am just somebody that doesn't play with the stupid "I-support-the-2a-but..." gun-control water carriers. You people are idiots and are why we have to keep laser focused on pushing back gun-control laws because Fudds like you would sell out the 2A in a heart beat.

Pure idiocy

That idiot who had her gun go off, could easily get a permit.

Yikes. Might want to spend some time on the OB before making an arse of yourself.

So a drunk college kid on gameday can get an arrest for being intoxicated in public, but shooting a gun off in a popular restaurant is "whatever"? Huh.

I'm an idiot because I only agree with 95% of what you're saying . Sorry man, I don't subscribe to identity politics, and I try to think for myself. I get why you're scared to give an inch. I just think there should be more emphasis on training, safety, and mental stability. If you're as big of an enthusiast as you seem to be I guarantee you've seen your fair share of mishaps or poor weapons handling. Hell, even the gun stores have YT videos making fun of gun buyers flagging people and doing other cringe worthy things in the store. Hell maybe if we had more competent gun owners in the world, we would get some of our other rights back.

We rarely get back any rights that are taken. It's a pretty rational position to me to keep the government from taking any more of them.

Well sure, but I absolutely would not carry around a gun with no safety for this very reason.

You carry your gun in your purse?

The 1994 - 2004 federal AWB should be reason enough but good on you to show your true colors as a useful idiot for gun-control.

You want emphasis in the form of government fiat. That's the difference between you and I.

Doing pretty well in the courts over the last 16 years, not that your ilk are any help.

What did you think when you heard the shot? Did you think it was a mass shooting? Must have been terrifying

I never explicitly said this. I agree the gov't would most likely find a way to frick it up. I just think people should get trained. Same way people should get trained before they drive a car or go scuba diving. It just makes common sense to me.

I'm sorry, where are those two activities mentioned in the Bill of Rights?

If you had any common sense you'd know that past a certain age there is no training requirement to get a DL and anyone can purchase SCUBA gear and use it without formal training either.
