There is no excuse for a grown women to be an unemployed social media influencer and here we are with society celebrating them.

said you have a slow metabolism and your thin friends have fast ones. I said that is a myth.
It's not a myth. Genetics plays a significant part. Hormone levels too, which is mostly determined by genetics. Throughout my life I have known several people who simply cannot gain weight no matter how much they eat. I once worked with a guy who never exercised and ate supersized fast food meals almost every day for lunch and then would eat an entire package of oreo cookies as an afternoon snack and wash it down with a 1 liter coke while he sat on his butt operating equipment. He was very lean. That's probably close to 3000 calories without even counting breakfast and supper. If I ate that daily there would be no amount of exercise I could do to not get fat. Sometimes it is genetics and in my opinion much more often than you are suggesting.

Most people spend majority of their life now at the gym and bike/yoga etc classes. Between work and that it’s 95% of their lives now.

Without observing and and accounting for every calorie consumed and burned over a long period of time, it's just an assumption. Most people fall within the mean and have a low BMR variance...think 100-250 calories between similar ages and statures.

Who are you going to believe?
When I was a child, 70 years ago, eggs and Cholesterol were going to kill us all. Eat oats and other cereal was the health experts advice. These experts were employed by Quaker Oats and Kellog.
We were advised to avoid animal fat and use vegetable oil.
Now Vegetable oil is the poison.
Genetics is going to determine your longevity much more than diet an exercise.
I'm 6'3" and weigh 196 at age 81. I eat healthy because I enjoy most healthy food.

I said they're consuming less calories for their height. Do you know what a calorie is?
I didn't read the study you posted, so I'm not going to say you're wrong. but surely there are exceptions (just like with anything else in the world).
I don't remember which player, but there was a guy in the NBA many years ago that was rail thin and his team was trying to bulk him up.
I don't remember the details specifically, but they put him on a specialized diet in an attempt to add mass and he just didn't.
He was a healthy professional athlete with no disease, tapeworm, etc.
just a skinny kid with skinny parents that struggled to gain any weight.
was like he just hit a wall and couldn't go any higher.

This, to me, is the main problem… most of us who know better, DO better.. *most* of us… but there is just so much mixed messaging.. there are those who will swear up and down that the answer is the Mediterranean Diet, or veganism, or plant-based… then there are those who are firm believers in the Carnivore diet, or Keto or a million other philosophies… each camp can post a thousand links supporting “their” view and”their” evidence, so dont bother… i am none of those things, so i try to eat a fairly moderate diet- but it’s really hard to filter the information we get .

Exactly. Imagine being 60 plus and living in today’s society. Where teenage YouTubers videoing themselves in a store now make more money than retired people combined who actually contributed to society. Who wants to continue to live in that society.

Concerning myself with what someone else weighs seems like a waste of brainpower.
Also your target audience is the fitness board.

I love these threads.
Everyone is a clone of Demarcus Ware.
Reality is unless you spend 2 hours a day pumping iron, then BMI is a decent measuring stick for your current size.
