an hour 3x per week lifting heavy progressivly and then walking or playing with your family is all that is needed

dont just sit on the couch like a fat arse and you wont have problem and you dont need to live in the gym. ridiculous.

You’re probably correct honestly. I was 262 at my annual wellness visit last month but they did put me on the scale with shoes and all that. I’m most likely a first thing in the morning 255-258ish.

Im honest. I’ll say my BMI is between 25 -30 and it’s something I’m trying to work on.

I find everyone who says BMI is worthless to be naive or in denial.

It’s amazing, isn’t it? Love how when they’re wrong, the studies are “paid off”

Continue being delusional, I suppose.

i mean there are some that it is worthless for but those guys are a rarity, less than 5% of the population and it usually requires 15+ years of consistent hard lifting so its rare AF.

I didn't read the study you posted, so I'm not going to say you're wrong. but surely there are exceptions (just like with anything else in the world).

I don't remember which player, but there was a guy in the NBA many years ago

whats even funnier is when they say....man i looked so good in hs...they state the weight and when you ask why they dont get back to that its.....

"I would look like a skeloton and like i was sick"

but when you ask them if they are fat its...i used to lift and be an athlete in HS so i still have lots of muscle :rotflmao: :rotflmao:

Its just way easier and more fun to eat and drink like a slob and sit on your arse. All there is to it.

There’s an old saying, and I’ll probably butcher it, but it goes something like : “Being in shape and looking good *feels* better than unhealthy food *tastes*”…. Im paraphrasing of course, but that’s basically my philosophy .

why are you laughing? it's a legit question that I'm curious about the answer.
I sure as shite don't know enough about this stuff to even try to debate, so I'm asking questions about the study you brought up.

the NBA guy is only being used because
A. he was famous (article about him was in SI back when I was in High School) and not just "a guy I see all the time"
B. had professional trainers and nutrition guys trying to add weight to him, so he was being monitored.

Also; you can enjoy yourself and still be thin! My BMI is 21 and I eat like shite. But I split plates, take home leftovers, skip breakfast, etc.

My life is still plenty fun. Last night I split boudin stuffed dates, a chicken club in Texas toast, fries, tuna tartare, and broccolini. And two bottles of wine.

But I don’t eat breakfast and my lunch was gross so I threw it in the trash.

It’s calories in < calories out. That’s it. There are outliers and exceptions to MILD degrees, but put any human being through the Holocaust and they’re starving to death.

Very few super special snowflakes exist and those that do exist are only special to a certain level.

I absolutely agree. If you're the average middle age desk jockey in louisiana, it's damn hard to stay in shape. It's easier to just be fat.

Yeah but don’t you think the article was written about him because his inability to gain weight was an anomaly?

that wasn't really what the article was about, just something that was in the article about the guy.
