re: Why Can't We Consistently Have a Better Basketball Team?

Drop off will show this season. Everyone that purchased season tickets during the Wade era probably held them to see how the new coach would do.
Also cheaper to not have to travel for post season play,
It's possible that there will be a decrease in revenue, but the paying for travel excuse is bullshite. LSU went out of the country to the Cayman Islands last year. That can't be cheaper than traveling in country for the NCAAT.

I get the sense that men's basketball doesn't offer the return of investment required to "fix" it.
Hopefully the vast majority of fans and Admin are on board and not emotional hyenas.

We were on our way to having a legit elite basketball program. Instead of standing behind our general like Kansas did we pushed him off the ledge. It’s a decision that will haunt LSU basketball for a long time.
Kansas also didn’t have an incredible football program with tons of shite hanging over its head at the time….. Miles, Orgeron, Our Lady of the Lake, lawsuits and the list goes on. Some legitimized after the fact, but if you’re an AD, you’re not letting the money maker take a sword for someone already in super hot water.

Bama and Auburn can have great basketball teams, so can we.
Bama and Auburn have big advantages over LSU in basketball, the state of Alabama produces better basketball talent than Louisiana. Then especially Auburn has the benefit of being close to Atlanta with all the talent in the area.

There are several sites that say the same dating back to 2000, these numbers are very easy to find
Bruh these freaking guys are random no names. You act like Louisiana is spitting out lebrons left and right. Also the second link is counting WNBA and that skews the numbers.
Is this counting people born in LA that moved and grew up in another state such as Georgia or Texas? Seems like it.

Nobody said anything about Lebron. You asked for the per capita numbers to back my statement and I provided them. Atlanta is the 11th ranked city in the country in terms of producing NBA talent. These are facts and if you think we need multiple Lebrons to compete then you’re unknowingly admitting McMahon can’t do the job.

We were on our way. Firing Wade and replacing him with McSuck set us back another 4-5 years.

And he calls fans emotional hyenas.
One emotional hyena calling others.
Sad when the conversation is more entertaining than the sport on the court.

Can’t be great at all sports.
No school is.
Continue to prioritize and invest in the sports you can win titles in (ie football and baseball) and hope you get lucky every now and then in bball

Making it to the tourny every year is not elite dude lol
It sure as shite is at LSU. Outside of Will Wade teams, we’ve made the tournament a whopping 4 times in the past 20 years and 6 times in 30 years. This is pathetic, so I would gladly take making the tourney every season.
Wade alone would have 4 if not for the Covid cancellation.

Yes. It's an incredibly misleading stat. Only 6 active players in the NBA played high school basketball in the state of Louisiana and 3 of them went to LSU

Tell that to the other a-hole fact checker throwing out garbage stats.
“Meh Louisiana is 2nd in nba talent per capita” yea ok bud

We never have been elite. We don’t have a program we have a team. We have cycles of greatness that is usually ended with coaching issues off the court (see Dale Brown and Will Wade). You can get mad about Wade all you want but he did it to himself and hurt the future of the team.
If you want a relay program you gotta have better support which comes from consistent talent upgrades. However, that requires being a better program which has never existed here. Rinse and repeat.
No school has greatness consistently in all 3 sports. We have 2. Most are lucky to ever find 1.

No need to tell him. He knew that already

Sure it’s elite for LSU, but not elite on a national level which is what the original poster was talking about.
And yes, I’d gladly take making the tourny every season and going on an extended run every couple of years.

As usual what you post is untrue, even your boyfriend listed them correctly. You guys keep lying to yourself if you want but once the excuses run out you’ll look as ignorant to everybody els as you already do to me.

He literally created this account to argue with you. He's a shill.

It certainly is not. The only 6 active players in the NBA who played high school basketball in Louisiana are as follows:
Jared Butler (Riverside - Baylor)
Damian Jones (Scotlandville - Vandy)
Skylar Mays (UHigh - LSU)
Javonte Smart (Scotlandville - LSU)
Garrett Temple (UHigh - LSU)
Robert Williams (North Caddo - A&M)

I created the account to talk about basketball, but considering Madking is every other post in every basketball thread he gets a little difficult to escape

You said 3, you lie so much you can’t keep the lies straight in your head.
