We were on our way to having a legit elite basketball program. Instead of standing behind our general like Kansas did we pushed him off the ledge. It’s a decision that will haunt LSU basketball for a long time.

It’s just not a priority at LSU. We don’t spend any money on basketball and we hire nobody’s without any vision or plan to build anything. Wade was pure luck, he did everything himself and was a strike of lightning but he was hired because he was the cheapest candidate we looked at. Our most high profile hire in program history was Trent Johnson, that should tell you how much LSU cares about its basketball program.

I guess you have a different definition of “on our way to” than the rest of us also

My definition is "making the tourney every year" then eventually all the pieces will be in place to win it all.
So we were on our way.

Then and Woody said, enough of that shite. I'll fix it.

Bad hires plain and simple and we sold out The General.

Kansas had 5 level 1 violations - they win Natty and a slap

LSU has 5 level 1 violations- we suspend The General 2x's and missed March Madness. Oh and we fired Will.

What's different?

- BROWN should have quit in 93
- Brady had anger and girl issues
- Trent sucked obviously
- JJ recruited but lacked game time awareness
- Will - awesome but he made a mistake and he was SOLD OUT by a young scorned girlfriend of a recuit
- McMahon sucks at coaching, sucks at recruiting, sucks at motivating fan base..just sucks

It's not the fans fault our ADs sucked balls at hiring, we're ready and have shown we are ready to support LSU basketball.

For LSU’s men’s basketball expectations, it is elite.

Eleven alleged violations, eight of them Level I (the most severe), with the Lack of Institutional Control charge as the cherry on top. The CCU threw both at LSU, and Wade in particular.

When you get the allegations, true or false, but one of them is Lack of Institutional Control, see ya.

If Bama and Auburn can have great basketball teams, so can we.

LSU has had enough success to be considered a second level power below the Blue Blood level. Each time they have a great year with an SEC title or deep run in the tournament the star player declares for the draft sndnthey slip for a year or two.

That describes almost the entire conference. Kentucky is an outlier. Tennessee hired an old coach who had just been fired. Ole Miss hired a guy no one would touch with his baggage. Auburn hired a coach coming off a show cause. Everyone else has hired coaches from mid-majors and hopes they work out. That’s kind of how this conference has always been. Other than Kentucky, football trumps every other sport by a mile and all ADs really care about.

Louisiana High School Basketbal isn't Elite, rarely more than a handful of D1 Prospects.
When Louisiana High School Basketball is good normally LSU reaps the benefits.

WW was nowhere near an elite hire. Dude couldn’t even make the elite 8 and was cheating the whole way. He caused a ton of bad press through his stupidity. Glad he’s McNeese’s problem now.

Its elite for LSU. Its not, but with proper management, we should be in that group every year.

Oh look, someone else who has never set foot in the PMAC for a mens basketball game. Thanks for outing yourself
