Help me understand, why give Nwoko the ball there?

Not mad at the slip screen and roll, either Reece shoulda held the ball and let him get further downhill, or Nwoko shoulda taken a couple steps and then went up.

It was an awkward looking floater
quote:

So , in general you believe AAU is detrimental to player development, yet you only attempt to illustrate your point with a shite post comment on a young LSU player who has performed very well when thrown into the breach with Thomas's injury.

I’m not the only person with that opinion
quote:

The initial discussion had nothing to dowith how the season was going. You made a snarky comment about how Reece played and I pointed out his excellent assist to turnover ratio, especially for a freshman.

His ast to turnover ratio is good, no doubt…. but that’s a stupid hill to die on when the team is awful.

I pointed out Wright’s ast to to ratio to highlight that we’ve had success with players with a mediocre ast to to ratio.

You want to insult me and call me a fake fan because I said a player highlights how AAU has stunted development. It’s laughable
quote:

And you are the biggest mother fricking a-hole and I still ant to knock the living shite out of you. What a piece of decrepit turd you are.

quote:

Its amazing how many of you assholes just fricking refuse to give a compliment without the " yeah , but" comment following.

I provided context. Our best season came with our best player (who was ball dominant) having basically a 1:1 ast/to ratio.
quote:

We maybe talking about two different players. I’m talking about Nwoko

You’re right, my bad
quote:

LSU is still under consideration for the NCAA tournament.”

We’d be lucky to be invited to the CBI
quote:

He’s a very disappointing player

How is he disappointing? What expectations did you have for him to begin with?

He’s just Dji Bailey but worse at everything besides rebounding
quote:

What? Last year was better than this year or the Jordan Wright year??? RU sure?

On paper (which means irrespective of the results), yes.
quote:

I'm gonna get hammered for saying this, but I think it was. Losing your two best players when your roster is mostly mid-level players has to hurt. Acting like it doesn't is no more realistic than not acknowledging we are still losing games we should win and look worse than we should, even without those two guys.

We had no Jalen Cook and went 9-9 with Jordan Wright playing hero ball. Losing players is a part of the picture, but it makes you wonder how we managed to go 9-9 after doing so poorly OOC.

On paper I would rank the teams this way:
1. Year 3
2. Year 2
3. Year 4
4. Year 1

I will repeat myself- we CRIMINALLY underachieved last year. That roster was way too talented to not make the NCAAT.
quote:

Our perimeter defense has been bad.

It’s horrible damn near every game, every year. I said this at the start of the year- that our perimeter defense was dogshit, and I got crucified for it.

I used to care enough to go back and quote myself, but I just don’t care enough anymore. It’s beating a dead horse.
quote:

Defending has been more of a problem than our offensive sets sucking.

I disagree, I think our offense is pallid.

High ball screen, drive or dump off. Doesn’t work? Rotate the ball around. Screen again.

Pass to the wing and have them drive.

Occasional Nwoko post up.

But it’s 80% just high ball screen and dribbling around mindlessly. It’s awful
quote:

Honestly, he probably could shoot more. If Sutton and Max were more aggressive I might agree, but someone has to shoot.

I don’t mind him trying to score more. However, there is a difference between taking a good shot/going downhill and forcing a shot through shot creation
quote:

It truly is remarkable how his team do NOTHING well. Some teams shoot it well from deep, but struggle elsewhere. Some are great defensively. Some are great rebounding. But McMahon has somehow figured out the recipe to be bad at EVERYTHING

I said it at the start of the year, this was his third best team on paper. None of the portal moves really did anything for me.

I think last years team ON PAPER was much better than this one. That team grossly underachieved imo
quote:

He can play like a biddy basketball player if his assist to ratio numbers are like his.

He has good ast/to ratio, but that’s not the entire picture.

We won 9 sec games with Jordan Wright being ball dominant and having basically a 1:1 ast/to ratio
quote:

I hate to say it but I think LSU isn’t very good

Thought this was the best lsu team in the mm era by far
quote:

Please explain. He has a great handle, very good shot, excellent speed. He doesn't have the creativity that Thomas has (who does), but what are you expecting out of high school?

Overly saucy with the handles when it’s not necessary, too eager to try to create his own shot

It’s toned down game by game, but early on it was more apparent
quote:

Entering tonight's game Jalen Reece has 66 assists and 25 turnovers. Go ahead take a shite on a young player who plays his arse off every game, What an ignorant and insurfferable piece of hsit you are, fricking faux fan.

He is a good player. I’ve posted numerous times about how I like him.

But it’s obvious when you watch him play he plays like it’s an AAU game
Jalen Reece is the poster child for AAU killing player development
quote:

Tang is a clown. KS has given him hefty NIL budgets, and he has squandered them the last couple of seasons

Elite 8 run while we haven’t even gotten close to sniffing the NCAAT

Our best showing was losing a first round NIT game to a team that we already beat
