Yes! I always describe it as….that feeling you have when you are about to/busting a nut but it last longer. Felt great….felt toooo great and that was the scary part.

Me. I did. Living in a sober facility now, went back to treatment in December. Addicted to shooting heroin/fent. ODed several times, most recently back in December. Had a stroke from my blood pressure and a huge line of meth a while back. Honestly I shouldn’t be here

I had one cousin that died from alcoholism at about 50.He was very smart at electronics and computers. He could never keep a job so he would steal stuff here and there, other wise mooch off his dad.
Kinda sad,he died and not one person was sad to see him go.It was a big relief to his dad when he croaked. He never said it but I could tell.

I come from a large family, amazing that no one ever got into problems with drugs.

I have friends that weren’t so lucky, good friend had both sons die of overdoses and were lots of issues with alcohol and drugs in the family.

That explains so much about you and your post history.

Good luck to you going forward, but you might want to reconsider your terrible opinions and takes on things you've posted in the past. Perhaps someone as messed up as you should leave important issues to others.

I lost my youngest brother to heroin/Fent overdose 5 years ago, lost another brother to cancer back in Oct. My brother who passed away of cancer battled a Meth addiction for 10yrs. My mom and i had to take care of him for 6months before he passed. I would give anything to be able to talk to them. Don't give up on him

Yeah, well based on your history, how do you trust your judgement on what the Kool-Aid is?

I've found that most of you that are way off on things will make stupid decision after stupid decision in your personal life, causing chaos and destruction as you go, yet think you have a good take on things like politics and social subjects. Clearly you can't manage your own lives and have no business telling others how to manage theirs.

It's the legal form of Meth. Honestly, if you really want to quit Adderall, you can. You just have to want to quit. There are no withdrawal symptoms. After about 3 weeks, you realize "I don't need this shite".

I've been taking 20 mg every day for the last decade. It really doesn't do anything for me other than help me keep my focus in the office. I have never taken anymore than what I am supposed to.

My wife's cousin, a commercial fisherman in Naples FL, OD'd last year. He was in his 30's. We never found out any details and we didn't know of a drug habit that kept him from being a productive person. Then one day he was just gone.

A friend's late 20's son, a social worker here locally, suddenly died. No indications of any health issues, etc. Just gone.

Two of my cousins (brother and sister) got to the point where they stole from our grandmother for crack/meth money. In and out of jail, using kids as pawns, the list goes on.

Once my grandmother died, I had no other connection with them and on one hand it's bliss, but on the other I'll always wonder what they could have been.

Seeing my parents like this is devastating. They deserve better.

This is why I don't visit my brother in prison. I get tired of people telling me I need to forgive. frick that. He ruined my parents golden years. He is lucky I send him money monthly like my parents asked of me when they couldn't anymore.

Now, they are pretty much gone mentally with dementia. I send it, but I hate doing it.

"Alcoholism & Addiction aren't just a spectator sport. Eventually everyone in the family gets to play". My sponsor sent me a reading with that quote in it. Now its committed to memory.

I was fortunate enough to dodge the knowledge that any of my loved ones had died of drugs or alcohol for 35 years of my life.

Then in the span of six months I lost my mom (cirrhosis) and my brother (fent/cocaine OD). She was 55. He was 33. This was in 2022.

Mid-2023 I found out that an old flame of mine died a few months earlier at age 36. She was always an absolutely beautiful girl, and extremely outgoing. I hadn't talked to her in 20ish years but when I found out she had died I wrote her family a letter and sent them an envelope of photos from the early 2000s that she had given to me when we were teenagers. Her mom opened up to me and admitted that it was a cocaine/fent OD that killed her. Same shite that took my brother.

My ex-wife due to alcoholism. Now, I have full custody of kids and she pays me child support even though I make 3x what she makes.

I shudder when I think of all the sleepless nights my poor mother endured while I battled chronic alcoholism. So many wasted years.

Exactly. One way I deal with it is to realize that this kind of guilt would have driven me back to drugs before. But, I'm stronger now and can be a better person for my family.

I understand why you feel this way, and it's perfectly reasonable to feel this way, but you have to know that your friends and family have to be incredibly proud of you for exorcising your demons.
