The city had an open checkbook after Katrina to fix things with the pumps and streets.

Those idiots slept on a street construction fund for many years and forgot about it & then at the last minute, it was “use it or lose it”,

So then all Of a sudden those 3rd World Banana Republic idiots had the entire city main intersections and streets under construction at one time.

Yeah, I REMEMBER THAT, because I lived in it. A previously minuscule drive became a nightmare for years because those idiots cannot manage anything. I’m done with it, it’s my home, but screw it UNLESS they clean house and stop electing for color and not credentials.

Is it as bad as the 2015 or 2016 rain that cancelled the LSU football game?

. The game was cancelled because of rain. It was cancelled due to extended lightning delays.

When water gets high in the streets, do we always have to call it a flood? And no I’m not defending 08.

When neighborhoods are seeing cars destroyed by the rising water I’m pretty ok calling it flooding

Living in a city depending upon govt run reliable maintenance and upkeep every time it rains is basically asking to live in a third world shut hole

Country band Desert Nudes had to cancel their INSIDE show at the Broadside due to flooding. Since they were already set up they played Cool Water.

I wouldn't call laundering the money back to themselves "sitting on it". Democrats are great at doing this, then blaming some "ism" for their failure.

too bad there wasn't something at the Dome or Smoothie King last night. Gov Landry's take over of the S&WB would have sailed through.

Floodwater overtook streets in some parts of the Central Business District, leaving cars stranded and causing traffic chaos near O'Keefe and Girod streets, which are a couple of blocks from the Superdome. Some of the streets in the area were impassable at 8 p.m. Saturday, including Lafayette Street between O'Keefe Avenue and South Rampart

Most excellent point. After Katrina Orleans and Jefferson parishes received FEMA money to rebuild drainage systems and infrastructure.
Jefferson doesn't have drainage problems every time it rains. So who is responsible for Orleans problems?
Not teedy. Katrina was 05. She got elected in 17. Stop moving the goal post

I remember a day not too long ago where coastal erosion had people all across the state worried about New Orleans. Now I think people are hoping that NO gets washed away.
I dont see why, not speaking for north and central louisiana, but what would "south" louisiana attach it self too. lol without N.O. south louisiana would be nothing lol.
