I know this guy. Had no idea he was now a heavy hitter in the city. Good for him.

Yea, that lasts only about as long as it takes for me to move them.

Mardi Gras is a holiday for the very low IQ. I was completely done with it by age 24. How people can continue to get excited year after year, week after week, day after day for the same annoying, crowded, loud, and boring stuff just completely astounds me.

You just send them to Bourbon St to piss and vomit all of the street while showing their tits for Chinese beads?
You think those are all locals doing that shite?
I’m willing to bet there are more people from Lafourch and Terrebonne Parish in the Quarter during Mardi Gras than locals

Same thread every single year.
I'll make a prediction......everything on Napoleon Ave, St Charles Ave and Orleans Ave will look the same as it does every single year for the last 40 years. 4am, 6am, 9am, 11am.....nothing will look any different than it ever does and the same people will be in their same spots for the most part.
The city is fighting an ocean with a bucket and for no good reason.
And 99% of the people will have a great safe time.

And please take your gunshots and murders away from parade routes. We thank you for your cooperation.

I'm sure your anecdotal evidence of "I bet" is solid, but I find it hard to believe that since there are over 20 parades in those 2 parishes starting Friday.
Non-locals are probably the cause of all of the rest of the problems too

One simple rule would solve most of this. No obstacles can be setup within 5' of the street curb on the parade route.

i havent been to any parade since 2000
and at that one, near severn, there was 3 stabbings and a murder as well as a guy shooting it out with cops in the parking garage.
i was pretty much over mardi gras before that, but after that, i never had any interest in them, not even the small town local parades

That’s already a rule but they don’t enforce it

Maybe Metairie should have some parades worth going to

Sidewalk side for the win!

100% agree.
If you are gonna stay out there all night, your got your spot
You can’t roll in at 10 and claim your “lands”

Here’s an idea, be cool and either they will make room for you to pass or go around and find another place to cross
Well, ideally yes but….
I have a place off of Julia St. but will also see parades uptown. It seems those that are the problem children are non-NOLA locals think it’s ok to cordon off yards of space using whatever means they can, including putting those sports pods next to each other where no one can pass (this is why I avoid their premier parade, Endymion), or it’s the idiot Tulane/Loyola students that have no idea what Mardi Gras etiquette is. The “true” tourists, those paying for flights and hotel rooms can be obnoxious but once you educate them they’re almost always nice and everyone enjoys themselves. Of course, they’re exceptions to all of this.

That’s because all you whitey’s need to allow for black folks to have space to enjoy.
It’s just reparations so black folks can have quality spots on the parade routes
