The City of New Orleans would like to remind you to not be selfish this Mardi Gras

Because last year, there were a whole lot of d-bags out there.

Mayor LaToya Cantrell's administration is planning to enforce rules on paradegoers setting up tents, tarps and other equipment far ahead of when Carnival parades are set to roll, part of a renewed push this year after residents and some city officials complained of a free-for-all a year ago.

Michael Karam, director of the Department of Parks and Parkways, said in an interview Friday and in presentation materials submitted to the City Council earlier this month that convoys of city workers will be out on the parade route early and often as Carnival kicks into high gear. Starting in the early morning hours, and with support from the New Orleans Police Department, crews from his department will be enforcing the city's prohibition on setting up tents and other gear more than four hours before the parade.

There's plenty enough room for everyone to have a good time. There's no need for you meatheads to try to reserve an entire city block for you and your three kids, a week ahead of time.

Mardi Gras is about sharing and meeting new people. Enjoy yourself. Don't be a tard.

I walked in several city parades last year and the roped off sections were absurd... ladders blocking spots so that you had huge areas with just a few people... followed by open areas that were jam packed with humanity.

It's a shame government feels the need to step in because some of you people don't know how to act.
