Pop up tents are everywhere now. There will be 6 tents with no one under them.

Bummer. Looks like I'm missing out on another year of no vomit to walk through, no weed smoke being blown in my kids faces and no countless n-bombs/f-bombs radiating from the blown, broke-arse PA speakers.

Y'all have fun. Enjoy the stabbings and broken car windows. And remember: "Laissez les bons temps-piss in the streets."

There's no need for you meatheads to try to reserve an entire city block for you and your three kids, a week ahead of time.
this has always been done - I grew up on the Endymion parade route (80s/90s) and it was difficult to walk our dogs with people setting up crap the week before

But it was nice to go stand out in front of everyone when we heard the sirens

The worst place is Houma. Ppl forget it’s a public sidewalk

Pretty easy to avoid all of that and not be a pussy, but you do you.

I am curious.

If I were to set up a tent on Orleans Avenue’s neutral ground, can I just claim this is my homeless encampment?

I was thinking the same thing.

Besides the occasional smell of weed, I don’t think I’ve experienced any of what he’s describing in the 30 years I’ve been attending MG as an adult and the 10-15 years before that.

Yes of course people block the intersections, block off areas with tents and ice chest and ladders, and tarps, tables, chairs etc.

Here’s an idea, be cool and either they will make room for you to pass or go around and find another place to cross

I think you have more of a chance of getting ran over than being shot

Sidewalk side for life. The neutral ground is a cesspool of trash from surrounding parishes.
