What is your go-to brand/kind of sausage for your top tier Gumbo?

We love The Best Stop green onion smoked. Down Home if we can't get that.

We usually make our own but in a pinch I'll use Bellue's or Bergeron's if I'm across the river. A lot of smaller smoke shops have good stuff.

As mentioned, best stop is good too. I'll grab Kartchner's if I'm passing that way.

There isn't a go-to. It's like Highlander - there can be only one: Jacob's World Famous Andouille in LaPlace.

I’m really not that particular when it comes gumbo. As someone said, no Manda’s. Also, no national brands.

Manda is by far the best sausage in S. La. Only kind I use for everything

Savoie’s because there’s literally nothing else easily accessible in Birmingham.

I go cheap on this. Manda or Hillshire - just pork sausage. I find that good sausage should be eaten by itself with hotsauce to dip it in.

If you buy Manda you just as soon bought ham because it’s the same texture.

Best Stop is the best I can find in stores.

I learned the hard way with Manda in a Red Beans and Rice, it's just not made for that. At all. My go to is Savoie's Green Onion. Consistent.

I like the sausage from Bourgeois Meat Market. I use smoked, fresh pork, garlic pork, and andouille. 4 different flavors.

Had a wild hair and used Conectuh last gumbo. I was surprised.

Typically I’ll have some “Cajun” spiced deer sausage. That’s my go to.
