Women. Give them an inch and they take a mile.

Our schools are closed up here in Denver too.

School cancellations were rare as hell back in the day, and Scruffy is referring to the early 2000s.
Usually required a hurricane. No one died.

So instead of not learning anything at school, the kids have an opportunity to not learn anything at home either.

Do you want 4, 5 and 6 year old children standing in potentially 15 degree weather to catch a bus?
Can all school admin get to their schools to see if they have busted pipes or any other issues from last night?

I agree it seems dumb, but it’s pretty frozen and icy right now. And come 6:00 tonight it will be below freezing again. So I get it from the “abundance of caution” perspective I guess.

It’s really not. The roads in BR are dry.

What about the bridges and elevated interstates? I’d assume the sun would’ve thawed them but I’m not out on the roads to see.

We’ve known for about a week now an arctic blast was coming. They should have taken the necessary precautions to prevent any issues. Now everyone gets an extra day off because a few people were lazy

Escambia County Florida just closed for tomorrow. They are wide open today. I typically don't complain about school closures but I don't see the logic behind this one.

They’re probably doing this because their schools are in such bad shape, they can’t keep the kids warm.
