Hes a better defender than Hawkins at this point but I agree I rather give those minutes to Hawkins. I feel like everyone in the organization is trying not to play Hawkins in his rookie year which is weird because hes been productive when he plays.

We trade hawk for Burks im prob rooting for every oppenent until Willie and Griff are removed.

We aren't trading Hawk unless we are getting an All-Star back. The way that contending teams extend their windows is by getting productive rotation players on rookie-scale contracts.
Hawk's defense will improve, and next season, I'd expect him, at a minimum, to lead our bench units in scoring. He shows every sign of being the guy who can replace CJ in the starting lineup in two or three years. The only reason to trade that that production and potential is to significantly improve our odds of winning a title this season.

And we are good but not quite in that company yet.
I think we make some noise this year but I also think, as of now, we’d be fricked against Denver, Boston, or Milwaukee. Clip Show and Phoenix may also count, health permitting.
I don’t see OKC or Minny doing well between inexperience and Gobert’s playoff problems.
We pick up a big piece and we may make that jump, but I’m more interested in seeing what we can do while healthy as of now.

I like Burks but to match his money in a trade you have to give up someone that you don’t wanna give up. I’m not losing Dyson Hawk or Larry for Alec fricking Burks

Trade machine says that sending out EJ and Kira would work salary-wise.
We would obviously have to include cash considerations and/or picks and it would put us in the tax for sure.

I’m not sure I agree with this but I have this gut feeling they’re going to trade Dyson. I just feel like Pels don’t have the time or minutes to help him develop offensively and might trade him for a win now vet that will give them more consistency offensively.

I get that, but we can do better than Alec Burks if we’re sending out Dyson.
Like I would include Dyson if we got back Jarrett Allen

They're literally developing him right now. He's getting consistent rotational minutes.

Yeah but I’m not sure they want to continue doing that or get a vet with more consistency. The team really is in a win now mode so I can see them moving on from Dyson- again I’m not sure I agree with that thinking.

For sure I agree with that. Alec Burks doesn’t really move the needle for me either.

Did you listen to Griff interview during the game yesterday they love Dyson and not going to trade him for some random vet Dyson would only get traded for what they think is a difference maker. Griff even talked about using there G league team better to help guys like Dyson develop on offense.

You do realize what Griff is doing there by making public comments like that during trade season?? He literally is pumping up Dyson to sell him.
He also said Hawkins is ok but he needs to work on his defense- because I can promise you teams want Hawkins but he doesn’t want to trade him.

No way Dyson or Hawkins get traded for a dude like burk

Me personally I rather give up Jose before I give up Dyson size and length you can’t teach

Thsts one of the worst calls I've ever seen lol

What’s interesting to me is every player we’ve bene linked to so far would have us committing to be a tax team this season.
Allen and Burcs would have us still in the tax, we could get Burcs without staying in tax, but we would have to give up Larry, which would be adding at one spot and taking away at a spot we’re already thin at

I actually like Zeller, but obviously would rather replace him than JV.
I don’t have a suggestion on how to do it.

I would be really, really, surprised if we sold our 20 year old 6’7” backup PG, who is one of the best on ball defenders in the league, and who has high 3pt upside and high creation upside, unless we were getting something really really good
I would be shocked actually
