Not a tough concept.

Women marry up, rarely down. So as more women are convinced to be independent, pursue top careers, and to not be housewives, this is the result of that path.

The sample size of the eligible men is smaller if you make more than them, since you rarely marry down. Women are creating their own problems.

So, if they want to marry then either ditch the high career paying jobs or marry down. Those are the only choices.

Accused of rape for approaching a woman in public?

Funny meme. 55-year-old guys don't get hit on organically by young women at bars or grocery stores or coffee shops. They get hit on cynically at work and places where they display wealth, power and influence. And they get hit on dating sites where it is strictly transactional. That's the reality of old Captain Save A Ho.

I am a top 12% earner but the way she talks it is some Tech mogul who makes an easy $200 million and then sells it and decides to settle down with her... and not her but 15 years younger

And yea I'm happy in that friend zone.

Nah. My first was a great partner but I was young and dumb. My 2nd turned psycho. The 3rd cheated and the 4th wouldn't let the 3rd quit getting in her head

Men get falsely accused for social credit points now, and I'm sorry a guy attempting to kiss a girl after misreading some signs is not sexual assault like some people try to say it is.

Fwiw I think another part of the issue is that women no longer feel the need to settle. A lot of people in my parents generation and even younger got married because the woman needed some degree of financial stability since they usually made less money than men. Now it's different. There are hundreds of thousands of women with e-mail jobs in every major city, they make six figures or close to it, live in nice apartments, have their own social circle, travel, etc. They feel like they don't need to settle for a guy that they're not completely enamored with.

It sounds mean but I see a lot of guys that are about 50+ who are married with kids who if they'd been born 25 years later would be online on some incel board. It's just that back when they were younger women didn't have nearly as many options and were much more willing to settle down.

There is some truth to this. And I suspect that this may contribute to an even lower fertility rate in the US.

We are following Japan into that problem.

I mentioned it many pages back, but they see similar scenarios played out on social media all the time. What they fail to realize is that even though they've seen hundreds or even thousands of examples, that's still a very small percentage of the population.

They think "everyone's pulling it off; I can do it too" when, in reality, the 6'5" hedge fund guy swooping in to marry them just before they age out of marriage/babies isn't likely to happen.

Well there are also those IG stories that say only like 1% of men are 6' or taller and make 100K and aren't married. Then they say it doesn't even take into account what they look like or personality.

So the barrel people like her are working with is so small

My grandfather is one of these. He got married at 21 to my grandma, who was 17. His first and only relationship, and their parents set up the first date.

Grandma passed away a few years ago and ever since then he reverted to his ‘old’ self (who nobody had ever witnessed) and now he’s awkward and slightly obtuse all the time; acts like an autist. At first I figured it was grieving but now I think that’s just who he’s always been, and my grandma kept him contained and mannerly.

This. Got falsely accused of groping in college. Luckily nobody believed her, but that was still scary as hell.

My ex-wife tried to tell everyone I hit her when she was the one trying to stab me with a butcher knife. Thankfully, not even her own mother believed her.

A friend of mine in hs rejected this girl who asked him out to a dance. She then claimed he raped her and was forever branded a creep. 15 years later, a lot of his friends and acquaintances from hs still won’t talk to him over some completely false allegations by a girl he barely ever even spoke to.

I know another guy who got kicked out of LSU when his stalker claimed he raped her after she broke into his apartment and sexually assaulted him in his shower. He called the cops on her, had tons of evidence showing she had been stalking him for weeks and doing all kinds of creepy stuff. LSU wouldn’t let him show any evidence, and ran him out. She was then hired by LSU and still works there for the title ix staff. Yep, this poor purple heart awarded combat veteran who was pursuing a bachelor’s in physics on the gi bill was run out of LSU by false accusations by HIS stalker, and not only was he not permitted to put forth any evidence for his defense, but they hired HER to work there!

Playing the long game….i like it. If you’re not a millionaire or get lucky early this is how you land an OT 9.5.

I'm well into that barrel, so the "swoop in and save me" hints come up pretty frequently.

I've gotten fairly adept at shutting it down without being a dick about it. It does take some tact to say, "No thanks, I'm not interested in paying full price for perishables one day prior to their spoil/expiration date" without hurting feelings.

I've read this entire thread, and a lot of it rings true. My kids are all in their 20's, and the youngest two (one of each) basically don't date. Both have two degrees, but they are modest, sensitive and somewhat nerdy and shun online dating. So meeting people is hard for them. I think they will figure it out, but probably not for a while.
