I have used Truevalue in the past to get a starting point. I have had the dealers contact me and also just got a number. Avg of sold price from across the country. I think it also broke it down by region. This was 2017 though so I am not sure how accurate now or if it even exist still.

Well you messed up by not negotiating everything online. I show up to the dealership only to sign and get my new car

Car salesman are mostly drug addicts working pay check to pay check. They try and take advantage of you any way they can to make a quick buck. But their lack of intelligence, lack of money, and addiction are weak points that smart, disciplined people can take advantage of as well
Btw Will Cover method is tGOAT. Check it out on tMoney Board. Those crackhead scumbags make their money on the uninformed, the overwhelmed, and the scared. Be the opposite. You drive the process. You withhold critical information to maintain an advantage. Instead of them reeling you in, you reel them in. Because they’re addicts going pay check to pay check, they get greedy and desperate and will agree to poor terms once they’re hooked

Most won’t negotiate online, or they make it extremely difficult. Or you’re basically just getting the dealer discount and nothing more

Who knew the OT was filled with car sales guys?!
I’ll be back when my 2008 Altima dies and I need a new car.

How many thousands?

I sell cars and I have no problem negotiating a bottom line online. It’s annoying when that person shows up and wants to renegotiate for no reason at all.
I actually enjoy getting to know people during the sales process and finding the perfect vehicle for them. Most people don’t show up with a specific choice in mind. I’m lucky in that I work for a very large independent dealership, so no corporate bullshite to deal with.

If you aren't part of the solution, you are part of the problem.

I had zero choice. Local dealership were getting no allotments, I had a deposit down for months. So I effectively had to search the country for vehicles that were ‘ordered’ by someone else…but since it took so long they no longer wanted the car. I could see where the cars were allotted all over the country so I’d just call each dealer and see if that car…which was in the build or transit phase, was in fact purchased. Took a bit of doing, but it finally worked.

If he can afford it with no problem why should he care that you make $55K a year and can’t.

I've yet to talk to anyone buying below sticker
Before Covid it was EZ. Find a high volume dealer that focuses on quantity not quality sales.
Got my 2015 Mustang GT ~2k below sticker.
Had to drive to Texas for it but it was worth it.

Enjoy overpaying. America needs you.

"I've purchased two cars in the past 3 years direct from the manufacturer. Had to pick the cars up in Mississippi"
How did the dealer prep and all that work? Was it shipped ready for delivery on an enclosed trailer? Or did you just wash and prep for delivery after picking it up?

I am in the market myself and went to 2 dealerships today just to get a first hand look at what I am interest in. Dude at supreme Toyota in Hammond told me they were the only dealer around here selling for under sticker and if I went to BR they are asking for 3000 over for tacomas and corollas. He said on a corolla SE the sticker is only 800 bucks over what they pay for it. I go to Ross Downing chevy and look at the Colorado and saleman tells me the new 2.7 4 cylinder turbo engine was test in a controlled enviroment to 7 million miles and they couldn't break it. He also said it was they also ran it for a short time with no oil and it held up. These frickers wonder why no one has respect for anyone in car sales.
