How come when they open a present on a TV show….

The box and lid are wrapped separately and all they just lift the lid off the box. No tape to break, no wrapping paper, no cussing.

Opening a package in a movie or TV show is shoe leather. Just like saying goodbye when they are on the phone. It is mundane, takes time, and adds nothing to the story unless someone (usually a child) is frantically tearing into a package which does convey a useful emotion.

i hear ya brohemian...and how aboot when they pull their vehicles up to wherever they are going and there's always a magical parking spot in front....the fakism pisses me off

Because it takes time to unwrap on camera and you can only do one take before having to re-wrap. Duh.
