Why not invest the $60,000 and take the 2%or 3% interest rate

Congrats. That's not special.

Car retailers are the absolute worst. Total fricking sleazballs.

I told him thanks for his time, we will keep looking, and happy holidays. I added that he has my number if he wants to sell me a car before the end of the year and not “accessories”.

I’ve sold for 20 years. If you don’t know my works, my incentives, my rebates, all my stuff you have no idea.
Some of the best deals I ever made for me were for some really low margin deals.
But I am just a normal dude, not a super negotiator. I like everyone to eat

Poor salesmen just trying to make a few dollars and they always have to put up with so much hate.

Billy, I do M and A for clients, put 4 kids thru college, wife and I travel and I enjoy helping others succeed, not bad for a kid from the wrong side of the tracks and no dad. What do you do?

exactly
I’ve bought my last 4 vehicles new at the same dealership in Memphis (5 hrs from my house). I order the vehicle, agree on price, drive up and drive out. It couldn’t possibly be less stressful
I don’t understand at all why most people subject themselves to the bottom feeders on the lot. Walking lots is the worst way to buy a car

Just curious, what type of car/vehicle are you shopping that has a net selling price of under $10k in 2024 ? Even the used car prices ive seen seem to start at almost double that price .
It was a 2007 Toyota Corolla with 7,884 miles on it.

IF you knew my clients and my list of M and A contracts then you would know that I have access to enough of what you mentioned plus what dealership owners have access to.. As one of my multi location dealers reminds me.. The money is not in selling cars.
YOU sound like the kind of guy I would treat with respect

1) those interest rates don't exist anymore
2) you're financing because you don't have $60,000 to invest

Wait until they tell you they are “no longer accepting outside financing due to COVID”
If you hear that bullshite call a competing dealership and they will cave like the slimy bastards they are

That is forced financing and tell them you are reporting it to AG

I like to physically see the car, sit in it, check out where the blind spots are and how complicated the electronics are.
If Car Max sold new ones, it would be perfect with no hungry sales people shoving cards in your pocket.
I also like the no haggle idea.

Yep.. and if they ask you while you’re browsing the lot or the showroom floor , financial questions like : “How much were you looking to pay per month ?” Or “How much were you looking to spend ?”.. tell them you dont discuss financial details in public, not until you get into a private office.. if they keep badgering you, tell them they are breaking your ______ rights .. there is an official sounding term that the lady uses in the video i posted, cant remember it- but it basically means youre letting them know they are breaking ur privacy rights by pestering you for financial details in public .. that will shut them up .

Carmax is worth it, no bullshite
You’ll get downvoted, but i agree.. if you have to go the financing route, the Carmax no-haggle model is the only way to go.. and even though youll never get rock-bottom pricing, the used cars they sell are pretty fricking close to new cars in every regard .
