It wasn't theorized in the movie but did anyone consider the possibility that this could have been an attack on all of humanity by artificial intelligence?
This is where I thought the movie was taking us.

Also, I was praying it wasn’t aliens. Glad they didn’t go that route
That's what I was thinking because they kept showing perspectives of planet earth from deep space, the moon, satellites, etc. as if they were trying to say this is coming from beyond our planet.
Still not sure why they would include those shots other than to maintain ambiguity. Would also fit as a better explanation for the strange animal behavior. Animals don't act weird when the "net" goes down.
Plus the movie had a "Nope" vibe to it.
Whatever, thumbs down for me. Just a bit too tedious with no real payoffs and I'm not big on the apocalyptic themed shows and movies anyway even though this one took a more nuanced perspective. Hollyweird is the last group of people you would trust to connect with those circumstances. These people live in a bubble and can't even fetch their own lattes.

Possibly a reference to the overview effect

Maybe I missed something but I was surprised he took the cash for the medicine. Cash does nothing when the world is falling apart.
Still a lot of unknowns at that point though.

It's still plausible as the true enemy was never revealed.

Left much to be desired. Wish there would've been more to the story line.

It was a really good movie first 2/3 or so and then completely fell flat with the ending. It is hard to recommend because that ending was
just so bad.
just so bad.

I assumed they were trying to warn the people about the radiation.

The deer had a geiger counter...

There was bunch of dead bodies on a beach for some reason...
Yeah that reason being a plane crash
Missed the plane crash. Oops. Was sharing time between s***posting here and occasionally watch this.
Guess the movie could not keep my attention.

I could see them all being the same model but you’d think they would have different colors.
Actually when they panned back to show the bigger highway picture you could see that a bunch of black Teslas were crashed in front of the white Teslas.
Feel the same as most. First 2/3 rd s of movie was intriguing, but a lazy ending. Useless dance scene was weirdly done. Deer scenes never explained.
But what do you expect from a movie produced by Barack and Michelle Obama.....

Is this what yall mean when talking about characters arcs?
Movie fricking sucked.

No, it has nothing to do with the story, and is not believable. They just crammed it in. You know they had to with the executive producers being the Obamas. It was a decent flick. It sets itself up to have a sequel imo.
Not only that but lefties are so unselfaware the bitchy racist arse black daughter wasn’t intended to be wrong. Lol. They write villains trying to write heroes haha

Why did they make Julia Roberts such a Karen in this movie?

because that way she didn't have to actually act she could just be herself

They were, but they were also dismissed immediately when GH told the story of his defense contractor client.

Probably to match the character in the novel if I had to guess...

Stupid movie.
Was setting up well and was hoping for extraterrestrial or supernatural cause, but the ending just didn't make sense.
Why were the wildlife acting like that? (trying to warn us is so dumb)
On average deer are one buck and 5-10 doe per 50 acres.
Why were drones dropping propaganda down a country road to reach two people at best lol?
Why were planes crash diving into the same spot? Even without electronic navigation, the human pilots would know how to find an airport under VFR navigation rules.
Same for the ships. They aren't autonomous.
Julia goes from hate/non-trust to practically falling in love with the black guy in two days.
Doesn't expound on the bug bite and barely explains teeth falling about.
There is only one highway to the city but somehow, Teslas are coming from somewhere else toward the city? Guess from a country Tesla dealership?
How were the noises begin produced?
How or what was nesting in that shed?
Who is bombing the cities? Civil war? So the gov't bombing their own tax paying citizens lol?

We not going to talk about how meta it must've been for Rose to see her mom in the Friends episode playing Chandler's childhood friend who makes him wear her panties and leaves him in the restaurant bathroom with no pants?

Watched it last night and my general take away was that it had a lot of potential for a really unique ending but then missed the landing. The parts of the animals, the hispanic lady, the noise, among other things, I was expected (hoping) for something different to happen rather than the exposition dump from Bacon. Didn't know anything going into it, and maybe just wanted it to end definitely did. Some annoying characters combined with the missing explanaitons left more to be desire. 2/3 of the movie was pretty good just the lackluster ending did it in for me.

The inexplicable lens flare shot from the surface of the moon, showing the ragged-out American flag was wholly pointless.
