You'll regret this

I dont have a side in this battle but this comment is silly. What exactly will they be regretting? Replacing one mediocre, grossly overpaid coach with another mediocre grossly over paid coach? That is asinine. Do you realize how much Stoops makes? Might as well keep Jimbo.

If they cant get a name like Lanning then just promote the interim coach. With him you get two things: a) he will hold the current team together and keep the portal poaching at bay and b) he is a lights out recruiter. Combine his ability to charm all those Mamas and Grandmas with the NIL money and A&M will be a top 5 recruiting team.

HE will need top flight coordinators though and they are tough to find.

A&M didn’t beat LSU today but the way the team was coached was worlds different from the slop Jimbo was running out there.

Jimbo charmed no one (Woodward and Bjork excluded).

It looked better because LSUs defense was lining up against you

I’m not talking about how the offense was able to move the ball. It’s more of how aggressive we were on offense and how much more creative the play calling was compared to when Jimbo was in charge. Went for it on 4th down 5 times. W/Jimbo those are all punts and FG attempts. We didn’t waste a single timeout trying to get a play in which was damn near an every game issue before Jimbo got the heave ho. It was a huge breath of fresh air.

Remember when A&M was finally doing a “real” search and not just hire who the boosters picked? Lol

Yes but at 1/10 the cost. Whereas Stoops is expensive.

Most of us knew he was a bad hire from the beginning. Had some LSU friends laughing and asking why we’d hire that guy.

Maybe so. But the Stoops hire was an unprecedentedly bitter pill that literally nobody was supporting.

Stoops has been a consistent winner at fricking Kentucky. He was a huge part of building the national title team at FSU

Why didn't FSU get him back when FSU had an opening for a HC position?

So A&M doesn't have unlimited money and has to settle?

We just paid 75M to fire Fisher. I don’t think you will see another contract like that …

Of course they dont. No school can take a $76 million dollar hit and just shrug it off. Not A&M or Texas or Michigan or anyone else.

They are in a bad situation and need to mitigate. Promoting the interim may be their best option at this point.

so, you ARE talking about the offense moving the ball

A little insight:
1) LSU's offense is going to score lots of points. You have to be aggressive and go for it, to stay in the game. Missouri did this, Ole Miss did this.
2) LSU's defense is HORRIBLE. Probably bottom 5 in FBS, no exaggeration. You're a fool if you DON'T go for it against them, because also see point #1.

Seems like LSU's gameplan functionally is to get into a high scoring game, and hope the other team makes mistakes- because they're not stopping them otherwise.
A&M missed an easy 4th down, they missed a FG, they threw a bad pass that was intercepted. Those are the mistakes LSU needs.

What A&M did today equates basically to scoring maybe 13 pts in a normal game.

Keith “9 inch” Carter probably facilitated the whole deal in order to take down an up and coming threat in the conference while also setting himself up to get the AD job at Ole Miss. Really genius move when you think about it.
