Assuming Alexander is a no go here's what I'm seeing in terms of the CB room:

- Chestnut basically off the team without officially being off it
- Johnson out for season due to injury
- We're assuming Alexander isn't a go here
- Stamps was not dressed out for Army game
- Welch hasn't played the last 3 weeks now
- Harris the most unreliable player on team has missed 2 of last 3 games now and who knows what his status is

Is our CB room for Bama potentially only Ryan, Toviano, Hughes and a walk on Robinson? Keep in mind Ryan and Toviano arent even supposed to even play corner at all.

We have GOT to hope Alexander is available and/or between stamps/welch/harris 2/3 of those guys can go.

It's going to be sage as cb1

Hopefully Harris is available for this game

Chestnut isn't magically going to be back for the Bama game.

Sage
Maybe Welch
Maybe stamps
Hughes
Robinson
Toviano(nickel corner)

Sad situation

Other threads have been clear Alexander had an MRI this morning revealing bad news for his knee. Not sure if the specific injury is confirmed accurate but regardless probably safe to assume Alexander is out.

Line em up and make Milroe throw it.

They don’t have elite receivers.

Even if all those guys you mentioned were available we’d still be in trouble bc they’re all terrible(except harris).

Getting constant pressure on Milroe will be the key. If we don’t do that it’s gonna be a long day.

This is what some seem to very inadequately take into consideration. The DB weakness is BY FAR the reason we are not in the Top-10. The offense is HEROICALLY GREAT, so we'll need every last bit of offensive magic and front seven excellence possible to beat Bama. My gut says we win in spite of this very bad position group. Maybe if we all really, really hope more than ever before, that will work. Or maybe just start more threads about this topic. That should do it.

If they are not going to start Weeks at LB, move him to Safety and move a Safety to CB. Also, cross train Prean and Brown at CB the next two weeks to see if they can contribute for bama.

They would be the three most athletic moves we could make over the bye week.

Is there any player on the team that has play defense back in high school? Or could have a chance to play?

Like a wide receiver far down on the depth chart?

I know it's hard to change position, but they have two weeks to get the basics, and use for emergency situations

Listen…didn’t read other responses so sorry if same response:

Zy has potential, has had some decent play…but it’s not like he’s been good. It doesn’t really matter who we put there. Why? Because we play 10-12 yards off on 3rd and 4, we play 2 high safety, no pass rush…the system is broken, and until it’s fixed, the players don’t matter a ton

Hopefully Alexander will be healthy in two weeks. If not they got two weeks to get Welch, Ryan, and Toviano prepared for this game to know exactly what they are supposed to do. I love Toviano's talent maybe this can be a breakout game for him this year...who knows
