He did it because he basically isn’t getting punished for the murder in return for admitting guilt he only gets 20 years for extortion pretty screwed up

The drug OD theory possibly. Smashing someone with concrete would usually leave some sort of physical evidence to be discovered.

The family should start making very large, public donations to the commissary accounts of the most dangerous convicts who inhabit whatever prison he ends up in.

100%. Women project their worst experiences on to every single man they meet thereafter.

Surprised he fully admitted all the details. Crazy it took all these years.

He's probably hoping to spend life in jail there instead of Peru or whatever other country is charging him with murder.

This psychopath can likely pass a lie detector test at will. He's lives his life by lies so that's the norm for him. I'm suspicious how much of this is truth and how much is fabrication.

Yikes. I think I preferred the boundless speculation to reading that. Horrible.

There has to be a boat involved in this somehow. You can't just push a body off in the water close to the beach.

Details are foggy to me, but I think he tried to extort the Holloways for money in exchange for information of her last moments

Aruba is one place in the Caribbean where that might work

Generally yes, but depends on the tides and what not. I'm skeptical also, what was the weather like that night and next day? If you smash someone's face in on the beach there's going to be evidence of it most likely? Especially reasonably close to her hotel? IDK, i'm also not sure why he would lie here?

Thanks. The way I read it or they wrote it was confusing.

That’s a pretty horrific thing to confess. Not sure why he would put that forth as a lie. If he was lying he probably would have softened it up a bit.

I say, kick the guy a few times real hard in the face. Tie his right hand to his left foot behind his back and drop him off about a half mile off the coast.

Wouldn't she have to be taken out a little ways for her not to just wash right back up on the beach?

It depends on the tide. Him being an islander, he probably knew it was a falling tide. Further, there are winds to account for. All the action on Aruba is on the leeward side of the island, meaning the winds would be pushing the body offshore. And once that body was at sea, the odds it would wash up on an island again are remote.

As to why we should believe him, it’s because he took a lie detector test. Also, his story is not the one I would expect if he was trying to exculpate himself.
