He's probably hoping to spend life in jail there instead of Peru or whatever other country is charging him with murder.
Nope, he’s being sent back to Peru to serve out his sentence there.

Also, his story is not the one I would expect if he was trying to exculpate himself.
Yeah, this story smacks of the awful, awful truth.

it’s because he took a lie detector test.
Complete junk science, inadmissable in court, and sociopaths are particularly good at fooling them

That’s a pretty horrific thing to confess. Not sure why he would put that forth as a lie. If he was lying he probably would have softened it up a bit.
He beat Stephany Flores to death in his hotel room on the anniversary of Holloway. I put nothing beyond this sociopath.

This is what many predicted took place. Few questions. How did he get the body out to sea? What happen to the block he crushed her with? What about the blood on the sand? How did investigators miss that?

I am guessing the tide rose and left no traces

boat involved in this somehow
The tides did have huge range and the current was pretty forceful though, so I’m not sure.
I still think he is trying to get out of Peru but either way, he’s a huge POS and needs to be slowly tortured to death.

Wasn't it determined that he went home and shortly after he and his Dad went for a "boat ride"?

Wouldn't she have to be taken out a little ways for her not to just wash right back up on the beach?
He might've gone 100 yards out or so. After that who knows with the tide, currents, and ocean animals that will eat her body. It definitely could be true.

Possible I suppose.
He's lied so many times about the case I can't really take anything he says as the straight up truth. He lied and said she had a seizure and a friend helped him dispose of her in a boat. He lied and said he sold her into sex slavery. He was then recorded laughing about how he's never told the actual truth of what happened and that he did kill her. He also attempted to extort money from Holloway's family because he was angry they had disrupted his life. He apparently at one point tried to mock his own father's voice in a call that suggested his father knew about his involvement in human trafficking.
I don't believe a word he says, lie detector or not. My general guess is he drugged her, killed her, and took her out in a boat and dumped her.

The deal has already been struck. He has to serve his time in Peru and then when finished, he comes to US to serve whatever sentence is handed down for the wire fraud

tides and currents could have taken her and no telling where she ended up
Go back and interview steve the DJ or ask joran to fully confess to having help.
He aint saying everything and being truthful. His coming to jesus moment is a cop out
But if the mother is satisified. Then so be it.

Utterly disgusting. Animals like him should face the same inhumane treatment he gave his victim.

I'm not convinced that's the truth. I recall that the area of the fishermen's huts was searched pretty well immediately after she went missing.
If he smashed her head in as he claims, there would have been a lot of physical evidence at the scene that even Barney Fife could have uncovered - blood pools, blood spatter, hair, bone, skin, etc.
Also, he would have left a blood trail when he carried her to the ocean.
My gut says he killed her by himself, but he had to have help to dispose of her body.
I sincerely hope he has accepted Jesus in his heart, but I think he still deserves whatever punishment is meted out. The guy is a psychopath. He's killed two women that we know of. Any chance there were others before Natalee? Only he knows.

bullshite. He knows that this "confession" causes Natalie's family to experience even more pain.
He's a psychopath and gets off on other people's misery.

“Uhm, I uh, I push her off.”
So they were on the beach making out and he wants to go further but she says no. So then he stands up on the beach and kicks her in the face so hard it knocks her out.
Then, he finds a cinder block and caves her head in and then "push[es] her off " from, where again? Ah, the beach still, after which she forever disappeared?
Hmmm ... I'd like to cross examine this punk.

I don't know if that's what he thought, but her mother and her brother were all smiles at the press conference and said this was better than closure and they finally have justice for Natalee. Case closed. She said they are no longer victims. They are now victorious and she got to say to him what she wanted to say. They are happy and at peace.
